ASRC Federal Space & Defense (AS&D), a subsidiary of ASRC Federal Holding Company, is seeking to identify a Systems Engineer in anticipation of the successful award of the Launch Systems Engineering Systems Engineering & Integration (LE SE&I) II contract.
Location of operation will be at Vandenberg ABF, CA.
Perform launch facility/launch base infrastructure monitoring/surveillance duties in accordance with the 30 OG and 4 SLS mission assurance and launch verification processes. Monitor and assess configuration changes at applicable space launch complexes, or at the launch base generally, and make recommendations to the USG.
Perform supporting functions to the launch site responsible engineer including assessing requirements, evaluating past procedures and documentation for current applicability, attending required meetings, assessing process verification, and developing independent risk assessments.
Provides 30th Operations Group detailed expertise on capabilities of Vandenberg AFB infrastructure and is the Group's primary point of contact for all matters involving base Civil Engineering concerns.
Responsible for maintenance, inspections, anomaly status reporting, short and long-term project planning, and equipment upgrades related to launch processing and support facilities.
Facilitates Air Force oversight of infrastructure projects, upgrades, and modifications for EELV Launch System and Air Force oversight of infrastructure anomaly resolution to maximize mission assurance capabilities.
Prepares for Facility Utilization Boards and ensures launch infrastructure projects receive required priority.
Provide USG representatives with recommendations for required Facilities and Infrastructure Database (FIDB) updates, item closure and risk assessment functions, and applicable lessons learned.
Products include, but are not limited to, FIDB reports of mission assurance assessments, risk assessments, daily reports, and issue charts showing risk burn-downs.
Provide technical recommendations for and summary documentation of EELV system TIMs/TEMs/Reviews. Products include but are not limited to position papers, assessment summaries, and risk assessment charts.
Other Job Requirements:
Initiative, sound judgment, effective decision-making, successful collaboration with multiple agencies and personnel, excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated competency in Microsoft tools including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and Information Technology (IT) systems and SharePoint-type databases. Ability to understand LVC test plans and reports and provide assessments and risk recommendations.

Qualifications and Expectations:

*Collaborate with Air Force Launch and Range, and Launch Service providers.
Education and Work Experience:
Combination of education/degree in Engineering, Mathematics or Science, and applicable work experience, as follows:
BS with 7 years of work experience -- additional work experience and/or education may be applied and substituted.
Current DoD Secret Clearance required.
Infrequent, less than 5%.
