Job Summary

LifeMine is searching for a full-time seasoned project manager to guide a pre-clinical development candidate to the clinic and beyond and a second discovery-stage program. The project manager will work with the with a cross-functional hybrid team including representatives from pharmacology, toxicology, regulatory, CMC and clinical. Project management is a new function at the company. As such, the individual will serve as leader of the function with opportunities for further career growth.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage, the development plan and coordinate all the moving pieces to deliver on execution.
  • Work across all functions to develop timelines and budgets for asset progression, tracking progress, identify risks and any mitigations when appropriate.
  • Manage the vendor and collaborative partners including contracting and oversight of including preclinical CROs and consultants when appropriate.

Job Requirements 

  • BS, MS or PHD in pharma/biotech.
  • 7+ years experience in early drug development – involvement with small molecules a plus.
  • Strong project management experience in early drug development.
  • Experience working with CROs and virtual project teams.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively internally and externally, with the ability to manage external vendors.
  • A track record of accomplishment effectively working with senior management.
  • The ability to push timetables and manage budget while keeping the team motivated in a "results oriented" way.

  • Scientific Acumen: Strong understanding of the biotech industry, including knowledge of drug development processes, regulatory requirements, and scientific principles.
  • Project Management Skills: Proven ability to oversee multiple complex projects simultaneously, with a track record of delivering results on time and within budget.
  • Strategic Thinker: Capable of developing and executing strategic plans for the successful progression of drug development programs.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communicator who can effectively liaise between cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external partners, ensuring clear and concise information flow.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Adept at identifying potential bottlenecks or challenges in the drug development lifecycle and implementing effective solutions.
  • Team Leadership: Experience in leading and motivating interdisciplinary teams towards common objectives, fostering collaboration and cohesion.
  • Adaptability and Resilience: Able to navigate uncertainties inherent in early-stage drug development, adapting strategies as needed and maintaining focus amid setbacks.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Proficient in utilizing data analytics and metrics to inform decisions and optimize project outcomes.
  • Business Acumen: Understanding the financial aspects of drug development, including budget management, resource allocation, and cost-effective strategies.
