GUY (Late 20s-mid 30s) A down on his luck musician in Dublin. Lovesick and lost...truly loves writing and singing songs but his broken heart is weighing heavily on his dreams of making music. Charismatic, riveting as a singer and guitarist...and in spite of his sadness he is appealing and sympathetic. Irish (Dublin) accent. Baritone with a high rock belt and strong rock falsetto. Plays Guitar.

GIRL (Late 20s-early 30s) a determined and witty dreamer...has come to Dublin from the Czech Republic in search of a new life. She is direct, intelligent, no nonsense, painfully honest and often very funny. Passionate about playing the piano, family, and the redemptive power of music. CZECH (Eastern European) ACCENT. Mezzo. Plays Piano.

BILLY (30-50) The music store owner who allows GIRL to play piano in his shop. A “big” man with a big personality...opinionated, loud, funny, fiercely protective of the Girl...a true lover of music with surprising vulnerability underneath the Irish blarney and bluster. Irish (Dublin) accent. Baritone. Plays GUITAR, UKULELE, PERCUSSION, MANDOLIN

DA (50-70) GUY’s father...a working-class man of few words...who still clearly conveys the love and concern of a caring father. Irish (Dublin) accent. Baritone. Plays MANDOLIN

ANDREJ (20-30) GIRL’s sweet, naive roommate. Earnest, kind, works at a fast-food joint but has big dreams. He has a slight build...made even slighter by his oversized “interview suit. Czech (Eastern European) accent. Tenor. Plays ELECTRIC BASS, UKULELE, TAMBOURINE, CAJON, GUITAR

SVEC (20-40) GIRL’s quirky roommate. A true (and hilarious) odd ball. Obsessed with television (specifically Irish soap operas) and coffee...a loose cannon of unexpected delight. Czech (Eastern European) accent. Bari-Tenor. Plays BANJO, MANDOLIN, GUITAR, DRUM SET

REZA (25-35) GIRL’s vivacious and flirtatious roommate. Funny, sexy, smart...over the top in the best way. Czech (Eastern European) accent. Alto/Mezzo. Plays VIOLIN

EX-GIRLFRIEND (20-30) GUY’s ex-girlfriend who has left Dublin to seek a better life in NYC. Lovely, soft, kind, and likable. UNDERSTUDY for GIRL (Plays PIANO)

EMCEE (25-35) Gregarious host of the open mic night at a Dublin pub. A good-natured ball-buster in the grand Irish tradition UNDERSTUDY for GUY. Irish (Dublin) accent. Bari-Tenor. Plays GUITAR, PERCUSSION

SVEN (any gender) Reindeer of few words, fiercely loyal pal to Kristoff, and loves giving the ice harvester a hard time. NOTE: Must have puppeteering experience.
