About our team: Business Services Technology leadership team

About the job: As a member of the Business Services Technology leadership team, the person in this role will partner directly with the SVP/CTO and other leaders on overall strategy. A central priority for this role is to manage a PMO of over 50 employees to deliver on high-profile strategic projects. The leader in this role will support the SVP/CTO and the technology leadership team from both a tactical and strategic standpoint, by developing programs to keep the team motivated and engaged. This role requires a highly resourceful, self-driven individual with strong communication skills, who has the ability to partner, execute, and lead through influence and collaboration across the company to creatively solve problems and generate results

You will be responsible for:

  • Leading a program management team responsible for the Business Services Technology portfolio and programs across multiple business sectors. These programs include roadmaps, investment cases, technology integrations, and technology driven projects such as Cloud Migrations, End of Life migrations, and other cost saving initiatives
  • Monitoring spend, hiring, and project progress to ensure capital projects are delivered on time and within budget
  • Leading multiple capital investment projects valued at over $100M to build new features and functionality across multiple product lines 
  • Providing support to teams and Finance by ensuring that investment case estimates are accurate, properly socialized, and reflect the needs/expectations of technology leaders
  • Monitoring progress on Cloud project deliverables, serve as an escalation point for issues surrounding the project, and working with the Cloud Business Office (CBO) to monitor costs on Azure and AWS
  • Serving as the chief point of contact for high-profile projects in Business Services Technology and understand when to address issues firsthand or escalate to senior leadership for guidance
  • Creating and socializing metrics related to labor cost management (contractor costs, FTEs to P&L, resource needs) with the goal of reducing or containing cost of technology growth
  • Building strong relationships with technology leaders and employees; and leveraging these relationships to identify improvement opportunities, as well as successes that need to be shared and celebrated
  • Oversee technology leadership program cadence (e.g., townhalls, newsletters)
  • Driving the execution of the CTO’s action items and top priorities by implementing technology-wide initiatives and programs that are calculated to improve the way in which technology operates – better, faster and cheaper, with high efficiency
  • Collaborating with product leadership to drive strategic initiatives across the technology and business teams
  • Distilling discussions and action items from certain team meetings into actionable plans for follow-up; and communicating these to the owners of the action items
  • Providing a mechanism to organize and track a myriad of items on the radar of the SVP/CTO and draw attention to levels of urgency for resolution
  • Developing presentations, documentation, and communications as needed with a view to capturing and disseminating content that needs to be shared with technology leadership and business leadership

Qualifications:

  • Communication Skills: This person needs excellent oral and written communication skills, as they regularly work with team members of all levels.
  • Leadership and Interpersonal Skills: This person needs to be able to successfully organize, lead, and direct large teams of people in a matrixed manner. The ability to influence others (in both direct and subtle ways) is key. They act as a trusted leader—so emotional intelligence, maintaining an atmosphere of psychological safety, and the ability to establish strong and credible relationships with colleagues is crucial for success and effective cross-team collaboration.
  • Executive Level Business Acumen: This person should be literate in overall strategy, organizational structure, and financial landscape at a high level
  • Time Management Skills: This person needs strong organization and planning skills to prioritize tasks and efficiently get things done. The ability to execute against multiple priorities at once is important, as is an understanding of how to prioritize tasks based on importance vs. immediacy. 
  • Problem-solving Skills: This person should be a creative and results-driven thinker and excellent problem solver for both people- and task-related problems. A strong sense of urgency and resourcefulness is imperative.
  • Project Coordination Experience: Ideally, this person would have a proven track record of successfully overseeing large scale projects and working with multiple teams.
  • Attention to Detail: This person should be meticulously detail-oriented, as they will be drafting executive level communications and presentations.
