Booking Holdings is currently undergoing a Global Finance Transformation that will drive effective finance support for business management, promote strong governance and control in the organization; and have a world-class finance organization in terms of execution and efficiency. We are seeking a Manager in the PMO to lead Global Tax System Implementation initiatives. 

This role will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and successful execution of global tax projects by developing and managing implementation plans, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, proactively managing risks, and presenting program progress to executives. 

In this role you will get to:

  • Understand and articulate project requirements to successfully execute complex global tax program deliverables 
  • Lead cross-functional sessions with varying levels of stakeholders including C- Level Executives to ensure a consistent and unified project management approach is maintained throughout the project life cycle 
  • Lead summits or scoping sessions to clarify initiatives, mission, commitments, and working teams
  • Contribute to the Project scoping and planning by documenting project goals, requirements, KPIs, roadmap, and main deliverables. Tracks completion of project milestones and maintains project artifacts.
  • Manages project Actions, Risks, Issues, and Dependencies, including appropriate escalations, and anticipates bottlenecks while balancing business needs with technical constraints.
  • Works with the Organizational Change Management team to ensure appropriate communication planning, stakeholder analysis, and change management activities.
  • Works with the Controls Integration and Risk & Controls team to ensure appropriate diligence is taken to identify and address any control implications across the implementation lifecycle
  • Creates, maintains, and disseminates project information, project issues, and status to stakeholders, in a concise, accurate, and professional manner.
  • Adheres to and helps improve internal governance and program management standards across the Enterprise Program Management Office.

What you have:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 5 years experience leading Finance system implementation projects, preferably having at least 5 years experience with Avalara, Vertex, or equivalent 
  • International tax experience Understanding of Accounting Practices and Standards such as US GAAP and IFRS
  • Proven ability to interact with and influence peers and senior management in a complex, geographically dispersed organization
  • Ability to successfully lead steering committee sessions with C-level executives 
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and be able to motivate individuals to meet project goals
  • At least 3 years of solid business process fit-gap or establishment of new finance target operating model experience
  • Experience leading global strategic initiatives within a shared services environment undergoing a finance transformation
  • PMP or related certifications preferred with a sound understanding and ability to execute projects using the PMBOK framework to move an initiative efficiently through the project lifecycle
  • Experience leading technical requirements gathering using SDLC-preferred
  • Ability to apply structured problem-solving methods to address issues and drive root cause identification
  • Skilled communicator and proven relationship builder, able to operate within a multitude of formal and informal networks while managing the competing interests of varied stakeholders, such as internal clients and external consultants
  • Experience operating in and driving alignment in a complex and matrix environment; experience working with global teams and multiple stakeholders to drive improvements

There are a variety of job related factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. In addition to a competitive base salary, roles are eligible to be considered for an annual bonus and equity grant.

The base salary range for Connecticut and the NYC-metro area is $135,000-$165,000.
