Position Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Finance Project Manager.

In this role, the Finance Project Manager will report to the Director of Finance & Administration, Radiology. The Manager is responsible for overseeing of all financial and administrative grant activities (Post Award) for the department of Radiology. This includes, but is not limited to, management of Radiology Post Award staff, management of grant budgets for NIH, foundations, and other grant-awarding bodies, developing subcontract and consortium agreements, post-award responsibilities include the establishment of research accounts, personnel effort allocations, progress reports, regular financial statements for Principal Investigators and Vice-Chair. The Supervisor will also be responsible for monthly reporting, process improvement and training, will assist with annual department grant budget, and ad-hoc projects. Minimum of 4 years in Research Finance/Post Award and Bachelor Degree.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage current Post Award Staff (Senior Financial Analyst and Financial Analyst).
  • Review and coordinate distribution of monthly budget and expense reports, analyzing differences between budget and actual performance, including monthly narrative for presentation to Radiology Principal Investigators.
  • Manage daily financial management of all grant accounts within the Research Division. Review and approve all purchases related to grants. Assists as necessary with justification of purchases on grant accounts.
  • Review and approve all human resource new hires and changes in salary or funding source for all employees funded by grant or discretionary budgets.
  • Actively support the preparation and review of all programs, schedules and support documentation for the grant budget and project period. Prepare all necessary reports, schedules and charts for grant/portfolio review meetings and presentations.
  • Facilitate, coordinate, and manage annual progress reports and final close out of grant accounts to sponsor and transfer of grants for incoming investigators and outgoing investigators.
  • Review time and effort allocation for all grant related personnel and assist with all required certifications. Assist investigators and Post Award Financial Analysts with all sponsor audits; process and documentation.
  • Oversee the monthly distribution of research update reports to leadership, such as the Clearing Account, Suspense Account, Monthly Deliverable Report, and Projects with No Activity Report, etc.
  • Prepares and submits grant annual budgets for new awards to SPA. Sets -up of subawards (if any on the grant), submit allocations for all personnel, and create a portfolio breakdown for the project. Prepare annual grant progress reports due to sponsor and submit to SPA. 
  • Creation, implementation and distribution of new monthly reporting to Radiology Leadership including new carryover analysis and overall PI effort level monitoring (AEC).
  • Assist with the analysis and preparation of the annual fiscal year grant budget (funds 15, 25, 26, 27, and 28).
  • On a quarterly basis, prepare breakdown of budget versus actual expenses for all grant funding and spending (funds 15, 25, 26, 27, and 28) for monitoring of

the Quarterly Grant P&L.

  • On a semi-annual basis: review and update Radiology Post Award SOP's and training material for PI's and Research Staff for distribution to leadership and PI's. This also includes taking lead on the creation of new processes and materials for distribution.

Assist Senior Management with special projects as needed and serve as the primary liaison with the Principal Investigators and Senior Management within Radiology. 

  • Liaison between SPA, PI, Research Finance, and department leadership regarding all grant management matters, i.e. subcontract budgets, carry forward balances, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

To qualify you must have a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of five years experience in a comparable position. Previous budgetary experience. Excellent communications and organizational skills.

Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $97,589.96 - $114,450.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
