Product Manager (Energy Technology)

You will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex technology initiatives aimed at advancing the greening of the grid. The Team

You will report to our Vice President of Software Engineering and work with a distributed team of 20-30 software engineers, test engineers, and partner engineers in the US and offshore. You will also collaborate closely across the organization with our operations, business development, and executive teams.

The Environment

This role can be successfully performed in Office-Based, Home-Based (US only), or Flex-Based work locations. You will work in a controlled office environment or from your Home-Based worksite, as well as virtually with your team members. This role requires occasional travel to our corporate headquarters in Folsom, CA, to client meetings, and to trade shows.

Your Key Contributions

  • Market intelligence in the renewable energy space —be the expert on our customers, who they are, how they buy and their key buying criteria.
  • Drive change within the development roadmap to intersect our customers’ emerging needs.
  • Understand the competitive landscape—be an expert on our competition and how they are positioned.
  • Collaborate with product marketing to develop product positioning and messaging that resonates with our target customer personas.
  • Develop a go to market plan in conjunction with our marketing team, including key activities and budgets to support the retention of existing customers and the acquisition of new customers.
  • Plan the launches of new products and releases and manage the cross-functional implementation of the plan.
  • Act as the primary thought leader for our products, including maintenance and grooming of the product roadmap.
  • Understand and support our sales channels; training them on the problems we solve for our industry and users; develop internal tools and external collateral and teach them how and when to use it.

Traits for Success

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
  • 5+ years of product marketing experience with at least 2 years of experience in a market-facing role (e.g. delivering presentations to customers and prospects, conducting competitor analysis and market research)
  • Experience working in the energy sector.
  • Proficient in writing epics and user stories.
  • Comfortable using collaboration and development tools such as DevOps and Teams.
  • Exceptional ROI-tracking skills, able to prove what is or is not working.
  • Must be a strong public speaker, and comfortable in front of large technical audiences.
  • Excellent people and management skills to interact with staff, colleagues, cross-functional teams and third parties. Must be a Team player.
  • Valid driver license and clean MVR

Pay Transparency

This announcement is open to Level III. The base pay range for this position is $101,400-$126,200 per year. This is an overtime Exempt position. Compensation is based on market rate, job level, job related knowledge, skills, experience, education, and certifications. This is a Full Time opportunity.
