A fantastic opportunity is available for a Consumer Safety (Toxicology) Manager to join our Global Safety Department based in Hull, UK.


Consumer Safety is a key function within RB, ensuring the safety of all innovative and marketed products and driving safety by design.


This role will involve the management of Global Consumer Safety teams supporting Health Wellness products such Durex, Dettol, Scholl and Veet.


The role will provide leadership and safety expertise in human safety and risk management across RB Health Wellness products.


You will interface with functional members of the assigned category project teams (e.g. R&D Category Director, Commercial Category Director, Clinical/Medical Affairs, Quality and Regulatory) to ensure innovative products are safely designed and any safety issues are addressed and communicated effectively.


You will be responsible for providing subject matter toxicology leadership and to manage the workload of a busy team producing key safety documents to support RB brands marketed as cosmetics and medical devices.


You will be responsible for chemical management and the safety monitoring of global emerging issues, to assess the business impact and provide risk based expert recommendations and escalation on time for any issues that could be a threat for the business.

Do you have?
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Experience within product safety or risk assessment environment
  • Demonstrated understanding of regulatory toxicology requirements for medical devices and/or cosmetic products marketed globally
  • Experience in managing and working in fast pace, multi-functional, and multi-cultural teams
  • Agility to work across various global brands, keeping abreast of regulatory toxicology requirements and ingredient safety issues
  • Facilitation skills to build relationships with Commercial, R&D, Regulatory, Quality and Medical functions to ensure the “seamless” building of safety compliance in our project and product portfolio
Is this You?
  • Degree with a higher qualification preferred in Toxicology, Pharmacology, or a related science
  • Proven understanding of regulatory toxicology and conducting risk assessments of consumer healthcare products preferably those marketed as cosmetics and/or medical devices.
  • Experience in people management with proven ability to lead and motivate others
  • Ability to respond under pressure and work within tight timelines
  • Demonstrated discipline, well-organised approach underpinned by the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
