Requisition Summary

PACCAR is seeking proactive, independent engineers with interest in creating, defining, and launching the next generation of industry-leading trucks.  Scope of work includes analysis of potential new product designs, evaluation of customer requirements, definition of vehicle and system-level architecture, defining control function architecture, and validation of vehicle level improvements to ensure superior customer satisfaction.


Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Identify and incorporate advanced automotive technologies into PACCAR products.
  • Prioritization of projects to fulfill the desired launch dates.
  • Interacting with customers, stakeholders and cross-functional teams to define vehicle control function architecture from functional requirements.
  • Champion development of vehicle functions with cross-functional teams.
  • Track design concepts and vehicle functionality through design and testing phases, and provide support for software development and validation activities.
  • Work with global teams to deliver common, cost-efficient solutions PACCAR-wide (Up to 10% travel may be required).


Qualifications & Skills

  • BS in Engineering or related field required; MS in Engineering or related field and PE license preferred.

Experience using IBM Rational Rhapsody required. Experience using IBM Rational DOORS Next Generation, IBM Rational Team Concert is a plus.

Experience with automotive or commercial vehicle networks, such as CAN, SAE J1939 and LIN.

Proficiency using Requirements Management tools and Systems Engineering tools preferred.

  • Understanding of designing, developing, and validating automotive technologies.

Solid understanding of Six Sigma disciplines and tools preferred.

Knowledge of the software development cycle and familiarity of the V-Cycle model preferred.

  • Ability to communicate complex concepts or data in a simple yet accurate manner.

Able to work in a fast paced team environment under pressure.

  • Requires independent judgment and effective decision making skills.
