About the Role 

We are looking for an experienced Director, Media Strategy & Planning to lead, shape, manage, and execute first-party media engagement channel programs for a top-tier global client. You'll play a crucial role translating strategic vision into campaign execution, and lead a talented team of media specialists and program managers to ensure campaigns meet deadlines, budgets, and exceed client expectations.

You should have a proven track record in leading highly skilled media operations teams, providing strategic guidance, and managing high-quality campaigns efficiently. Your strong analytical skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are essential, as you collaborate with interdisciplinary teams within the agency and on the client-side. Impeccable attention to detail and the ability to excel under pressure are key, as you anticipate and meet client needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of 4-5 media operations specialists in executing a high volume of first-party media channels effectively and within exacting client standards.
  • Ensure effective quality control to minimize human error across all campaigns. 
  • Assist clients in the quarterly planning process to properly scope work across the team. 
  • Act as the primary operational point of contact for clients and communicate regularly and clearly to ensure alignment between client and team. 
  • Quickly become an expert in client’s bespoke first party media platform and assist internal stakeholders in campaign planning best practices. 
  • Be flexible, nimble, accountable, and highly organized. 

About You:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. 
  • 10+ years of digital media experience
  • Minimum 5 years in a management role, overseeing teams of 3-5, preferably within a media agency, collaborating closely with clients and cross-functional teams (e.g., account managers, art directors, developers)
  • Hands-on experience in campaign / ad operations (e.g. paid TrueView video ads, GDN, paid social, and email platform), with a solid understanding of performance metrics (e.g. CTR, CVR)
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Experienced in reviewing and provide strategic analysis & insights that are actionable working with media analyst
  • Proficient in Google Suite: Drive, Docs, Slides, Sheets or equivalent (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Ability to manage multiple complex campaigns simultaneously, multi-tasking as needed
  • Ability to identifying and prioritizing campaign priorities
  • Process driven with a knack for identifying areas of improvement and making recommendations to enhance delivery efficiency and output quality
  • High energy and go-getter attitude, capable of working well within a team and independently
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexible and adaptable to fast-paced and changing environments and business needs
  • Sense of humor and strong team orientation, comfortable collaborating with cross-border global, regional, and local distributed teams
  • High attention to detail and a keen desire to learn

Not a must, but a plus:

  • Project management certifications or MBA
  • Experience in Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies a plus 
  • Advanced technical skills
