Role:  Junior Legal Counsel (qualified solicitor 1-2 PQE)

 Overview of Junior Legal Counsel Position:

  • Draft/amend board resolutions in all jurisdictions
  • Interact/coordinate with local councils and corporate secretaries in all jurisdictions
  • Assist with fund’s documents amendments and launch of new funds
  • Monitor corporate filings and fill in / review forms prepared by corporate secretaries
  • Review and negotiate recruiters T&Cs
  • Review or draft NDAs with vendors
  • Review and negotiate trial agreements, data and software license agreements, amendments, consultancy agreements
  • Coordinate and liaise with other teams
  • Conduct legal research
  • Review of engagement letters (audit, tax, ad hoc legal or compliance works etc)
  • Assist with data protection matters
  • Assist with various surveys in the jurisdictions involved

 Typical Day of Junior Legal Counsel:

There is no typical day for a Junior Legal Counsel. The role will be varied and will include a mix of corporate governance, funds, commercial, IP, and data protection. It will be a multi-disciplinary and collaborative environment and the successful candidate will be required to interact with other teams (also located in different jurisdictions) and senior management.

The Junior Legal Counsel will report to the Head of Legal.

 Skill Set Required For Position: 

  • Up to 2 years PQE
  • Previous experience/training in an international law firm
  • Previous experience in either corporate, finance or funds/capital markets and willingness to broaden skill set
  • Pro-active and ability to think outside the box in order to provide solutions
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational  and communication (both written and verbal) skills
  • Ability to work well with colleagues across multiple regions
  • Ability to prioritise, manage multiple tasks, and work with tight deadlines
