As an Internship Team Member, you will experience what it is like to be a team member at destinations across the enterprise; all while joining a cohort of peers to learn, grow, and explore what it means to work in hospitality. This 12-week internship program is designed to engage you beyond the day-to-day work experience; inviting you to participate in activities and events that cater to the specific interests and needs of today’s students.

GENERAL SUMMARY

As a Corporate Internal Audit Intern, you will apply learned knowledge of accounting and auditing principles through real world experience by performing or assisting in the planning and execution of compliance, financial, and operational audits, and special projects, under the mentorship of the Director of Internal Audit.

In addition, you will learn about varied auditing, operational, and accounting activities within the business, and periodically interact with mid-level management and staff. This role is designed to give you exposure to the daily work of an Internal Auditor, while also allowing you to take the lead on portions of individual audit projects.

WHAT YOU WILL ACCOMPLISH (STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES):

As the Internal Audit Intern, you will gain exposure to business operations in four key areas, including onboarding, audit planning, audit testing, and audit observations. As an intern at Caesars Entertainment, you are given the opportunity to complete portions of various audit projects and present results to property mid-management and staff.

ONBOARDING

  • Become familiar with the LA and MS Caesars properties, obtain property badges, and participate in New Hire Orientation
  • Review and understand LA and MS of Gaming Enforcement Regulations related to the areas within assigned projects
  • Introduction to department policies and procedures

AUDIT PLANNING

  • Understand the purpose of audit planning procedures
  • Complete audit planning procedures for assigned projects by the assigned due date

AUDIT TESTING

  • Complete audit tests in various audits by assigned due dates
  • Document results of testing, including any issues
  • Communicate results verbally and in written format as needed

AUDIT OBSERVATIONS

  • Coordinate and complete audit observations of various gaming and non-gaming areas, as needed for assigned projects
  • Document results of observations within workpapers by assigned due dates
  • Communicate results verbally and in written format as needed

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Regularly communicate project status

Knowledge of accounting and auditing principles/standards, and familiarity with various computer systems and applications, including Word, Excel, and Microsoft Outlook

Assist in presenting oral and written results of audit activities various levels of management and staff

  • Able to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently in a changing environment.

Ability to communicate one-on-one and to groups to explain policies and procedures, and to persuade others to accept or adopt a specific opinion or action. 

  • Ability to effectively present information and/or a convincing argument to executives.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree and is a junior or senior in credit hours

Preferred major in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Hospitality, or related field with sufficient courses in accounting and auditing

Must be eligible for Casino Employee Registration in Louisiana and Mississippi by the Division of Gaming Enforcements. Applicant must be 21 by the first day of the internship to be eligible for the Casino Employee Registration
