Program Director - Construction
As required by our governmental client, this position requires being a US Citizen, lawful resident alien, citizen of American Samoa or other territory owning permanent allegiance to the United States.
The Construction Program Director will provide leadership, oversight, and overall responsibility for the timeliness, completeness, quality, cost and profitability of multiple construction projects, with a focus on larger and/or more complex projects in the commercial and federal sectors. This role involves comprehensive project management, collaboration with key stakeholders, and ensuring strict compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
Compensation & Benefits:
Estimated Starting Salary Range for Program Director - Construction: $160,000 - $185,000
Pay commensurate with experience.
Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.
Program Director - Construction Responsibilities Include:
- Project Leadership: Provide overall leadership, support, and management for assigned construction projects, from concept through completion.
- Project Planning: Lead or participate in project initiation meetings, progress meetings, and other relevant discussions to review scopes of work, special requirements, schedules, and budgets. Adherence to the schedule is most critical.
- Profit and Loss: responsible for the delivery and execution of the cost and profit forecast for each project. Understand variances and develop plans to mitigate.
- Construction Management: Utilize construction management systems and methodologies as defined by the company to ensure project success.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure the timeliness, completeness, quality, and cost-effectiveness of projects.
- Client Relationship: Establish and maintain positive and effective relationships with key contacts to develop business opportunities and ensure excellent customer service.
- Team Management: Oversee and manage Architects, Contractors, Subcontractors, Construction Managers, and project administrative staff to ensure their responsibilities are met.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all projects are administered in compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including those related to safety, labor relations, and EEOC.
- Contract Management: Supervise and manage all contract requirements, including submittals, payment applications, schedules, and budgets.
- Reporting: Provide regular updates to senior management on project progress, financial status, and client satisfaction.
- Government Relations: Attend or lead business meetings representing the company at government agencies, adhering to professional business attire requirements.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Program Director - Construction Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
- Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects in various phases.
- Proficiency in reading, analyzing, and interpreting contract documents, blueprints, specifications, safety regulations, and procedural manuals.
- Commitment to delivering safe, high-quality, cost-efficient, and timely service.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make effective decisions under varying circumstances.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, public speaking, and presentation skills.
- Working knowledge of contract, federal, and municipal laws related to construction projects.
- Competency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project) and Prolog Project Management.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance as required by the contract.
- Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
