Job Duties:

The HR Business Partner (HRBP) position is responsible for aligning organizational goals and objectives with Human Resources initiatives and activities. The position builds partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to public servants and leaders. The HRBP maintains an effective level of organizational literacy about the organization’s function and objectives, along with its culture and engagement.

In this role you'll:

  • Support multiple state agencies as a partner and resource in all areas of Human Resources and payroll.
  • Understand each agency's goals and strategically align those goals with HR initiatives and support.
  • Collaborate with organizational partners to effectively build trust and successful working relationships through leadership meetings, and other relevant initiatives.
  • Act as a collaborative partner to DAS-State Personnel related to policy/program development.
  • Manage and supervise a team of recruitment and payroll specialists alongside other members of HR leadership.
  • Implement and present HR training and development programs to increase HR presence and compliance.
  • Work with a team of Human Resource professionals, modeling confidence, ethical behavior, great customer service, exceptional communication, and a commitment to innovation, integrity, and accountability.
  • Other duties as assigned within the scope of classification.

Requirements/Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related field and one year of related experience. Experience may be substituted for education on a year for year basis.

Preferred: Experience resolving complex employee relations issues and working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including payroll, compensation practices, organizational analysis, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws. 

Other: Regular and reliable attendance is a requirement for this position. This position will require travel on an as-needed basis to other state agency locations. As such, a valid driver's license will be required. 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 
  • Must be able to lift 5 to 10 pounds at times.
