Digital Sales Specialist - Indianapolis [hybrid]

What is the job about? 

The Digital Sales Specialist will be responsible to ensure a positive customer experience through the entire sales process by responding to RFQs and issuing quotations, engage in customer visits and demonstrate our digital services in the field through presentations, meetings and industry events. The Digital Sales Specialist will collaborate directly with the Digital Innovation Team, particularly the Digital Sales Manager, and various members throughout the Peerless Pump organization. Position reports to, and will take functional direction from, the FireConnect Director. 

Your main responsibilities: 

  • Become the subject matter expert for all things Peerless Digital
  • Travel (when necessary, up to 25%) to visit customers and coach them toward value-based selling
  • Proactively address new sales leads and drive the sales process for existing customers through the entire sales process, from identification and quotation to fulfillment.
  • Manage a sales pipeline and collaborate with the Fire Segment Regional Sales Managers and Digital Sales Manager
  • Provide subject matter consultation to sales engineers and end users regarding selection of products, along with preparation and presentation of quotations

  • Ability to coach and lead sales processes or projects within the digital offering (value-based selling)
  • Expert knowledge and commercial mindset regarding selling and delivering digital offerings and services
  • Solid knowledge of the plans, processes and activities related to commercialization of new technologies
  • Strong ability to influence others and earn trust
  • Strong presentation, communication and writing skills 
  • Experience being an influencer within a dynamic business environment
  • Possess a great understanding of the relevant systems, local laws, and regulations where applicable, for the digital offerings and service environment
  • Must be able to travel up to 25% as necessary. Thus, candidates should be able to maintain valid identification, including a valid Passport
  • Fluent in English [verbal and written] 

Key Success Factors

Key measures include but not limited to;

  • Full Salesforce opportunity pipeline (measurable)
  • achieving agreed upon sales and booking targets
  • completing quotations in a timely manner and following up based on Salesforce system
  • Completing a pre-defined amount of Lunch and Learn presentations to end users and engineers

Posting, Reporting, and Work Relations

This position will interface directly with all members of the Digital Solutions Team at Peerless Pump (including Sr Digital Manager, Sales Director, Customer Success Manager, Digital Solutions Engineer, and Digital Service Manager. We work as a close team and collaborate to bring success. Additionally, at times you will need to interface with the rest of the Peerless organization, outside of the Digital team. This includes the Regional Sales Managers within the Fire Sales segment, operations for sales order fulfillment, marketing, and customer service. 

Work Conditions

  • Computer Usage may be required up to 90% of the time.
  • English language competency will be required.
  • Travel may be required and include driving a personal or company vehicle as necessary (e.g., to various company locations, to and from client sites, to the airport).
  • Travel, domestic and/or international may be required up to 50% of the time. A valid passport is required.

Your background

We imagine that you have: 

  • Experience leading processes preferably within Logistics
  • Strong ability to lead and/or influence others
  • Strong knowledge of best practices and relevant systems within Logistics
  • Post Secondary Education (Associate or Technical degree) *Bachelor's degree much preferred
