The Head of Communications for MENA will be responsible for developing and executing our Communications strategy in the Middle East and North Africa adapting global communication campaigns for the local market and developing market-specific initiatives to reach Instagram's key audiences.

Success in this role means landing our key messages in the region while building and developing key relationships with media. The successful candidate will be an excellent writer in both English and Arabic with strong experience in developing and executing high-profile, creative, national communications campaigns, managing press relations and handling corporate issues.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about Instagram, has knowledge of the social and digital industry, young audiences, the creators landscape and has strong experience in developing and executing high-profile communications initiatives. To find success in this position, the ideal candidate needs to be creative, hard-working, be able to thrive in a demanding, fast-moving environment and work on a number of projects simultaneously. This position will report to Instagram's Head of Communications in EMEA and requires managing proactive and reactive communications, from planning to execution.

This is a full time position based in our office in Dubai.
Drive positive coverage across media and social platforms that reaches audiences important to Instagram
Develop and execute creative communications strategies and initiatives to support Instagram’s operations in MENA
Own day-to-day execution for public relations programs, both corporate, advertising trade consumer and product oriented
Organise press briefings, media sessions, and events. Prepare briefing materials and brief executive spokespeople
Educate users, press and influencers about Instagram products and initiatives
Respond to and route incoming media requests from media across MENA
Manage agency support within MENA
Work closely with the rest of the Instagram Communications team in EMEA and the US on the consumer and business side
Work and consult regularly with cross-functional teams across the company, many of whom are in London and California, particularly with partnerships, marketing, policy, product and sales Educate press, bloggers, influencers, young people and parents about Instagram products and initiatives
Minimum bachelors degree (post-graduate or professional degrees preferred) or equivalent and the ability to apply relevant knowledge from this field to communications
8+ years professional experience in communications or public relations Experience working on the ground in the Middle East necessary (additional experience in the EMEA region a plus)
Experience working with corporate, tech, lifestyle and business/marketing media and influencers and developing social campaigns to achieve communications goals
Excellent communications and decision-making skills
along with strong project management skills
Experience in managing PR agencies and contractors and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
Deep understanding and passion for Instagram and Facebook is essential
Fluency in English and Arabic
