The Team: We are responsible for driving the Happy People Revolution at Farfetch. Our People Team consists of all exciting fields of People including Talent Acquisition, Employer Branding, Learning & Development, Business Partnering, Total Rewards, People Applications, and People Analytics & Planning. The Role: We are looking for a Lead Data Scientist to help shape a new Advanced Analytics team. This team will develop our “Data meets People” agenda, positively influencing our People programs and processes. We have an ambitious vision and we expect you to play a leading role in shaping who we are and what we do. As an early member, you will not only be able to develop the new team, but have a key role in defining what questions should be asked and play a big part in finding new opportunities for impact. In the role, you will be part of and work closely with the People Analytics & Planning team and with the Global People Strategy Director, eenabling action-oriented and insightful decisions, and leading strategically aligned, organizational-level change, while building capabilities across the People Team. You will also connect with the broader data science community at Farfetch, ensuring that we take advantage of best practices and innovative solutions developed across the company.
What You’ll do:
Work with our stakeholders to shape our “Data meets People” agenda, identifying high impact opportunities and the best approaches to capture them effectively; Lead on the definition and development of a suite of tools and techniques to ensure Farfetch can carry this agenda. This includes identifying the gaps and developing the foundations in data infrastructure and processes; Research, prototype and productionise Machine Learning approaches that substantially improve our People initiatives and processes; conducting end-to-end projects including data gathering and requirements specifications, processing, analysis, and presentations; Generate actionable and predictive insights from different sources (including hiring data, follow-up meetings, exit interviews) in order to find trends and contribute for a better place to work for; Work with complex data sets, applying sophisticated statistical techniques to solve hard problems across our three strategic pillars: Find, Grow and Keep the best talent. Examples of this could include automating CV screening, recommending promotions based on performance, or anticipating turnover. Recruit, manage and retain a high performing team of Data Scientists; coaching them, setting their priorities and working collaboratively to deliver projects on time and to the highest standards.
Who You Are:
Superbly qualified – you developed your inquisitive mind via a Master’s degree, or higher, in a quantitative domain such as Computer Science, Operational Research, Statistics, Applied Maths, or similar Experienced with proven results in the field of Data Science, combining a deep technical knowledge with a business oriented mind-set A builder, and thrive on the prospect of creating something new. You can advise on the pros and cons of alternative approaches, but are not afraid to roll up your sleeves to get the job done Extremely capable of working with data modelling, visualization tools and machine learning software Able to rapidly break complex questions into simple, actionable and testable hypotheses Passionate for improving techniques, processes, analytical insights and technology to achieve our bold goals. You will help address the complex challenges of experiment design, using state of the art statistical techniques An investor in people – we want someone who seeks to deliver impact, but also invests in themselves and others Pragmatic – you know how to convert incomplete and less-than-perfect data into decisions without getting stuck in analysis paralysis A great story teller – able to articulate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
