In this role, you have the opportunity to

Work on exciting new cardiovascular solutions that will bring personalized treatment for the no. 1 cause of death.

Our challenge is to

bring a unique combination of cardiovascular devices and image-guided therapy solutions to the market to guide treatment of ischemic heart disease and peripheral artery disease.

You will be working on a product (software) development of a device regarding this solution.

Cardiovascular disease is the number one cause of death globally and it’s on the rise. At the same time the patient population is growing, it’s also becoming more complex. More people are suffering from a range of confounding comorbidities that necessitate more personalized treatments. Combined with changing regulations and fewer resources, health systems face a significant challenge to provide high-level individualized care to complex heart disease patients without incurring incremental risks or costs.

You are responsible for

  • Design and implementation of software (on component or module level)—understand and communicate consequences of your design on the architecture and influence design specification;
  • Design software on the basis of design specifications and ensuring that the software in question will be reliable, efficient, user-friendly, easy to maintain and meet the (medical) quality and coding standards ;
  • Implement unit integration and unit tests for the designed modules or components;
  • Perform work in-line with processes that have been agreed in the department;
  • Contributing to the interfaces to other modules , in close consultation with other relevant disciplines;
  • Initiatives and active participation for continuous improvement and scrum process.

An extremely driven international cross-functional R&D team of the business unit Image Guided Therapies – Devices. Your local team is in Best, The Netherlands, and you will collaborate with the team in San Diego and Rancho Cordova, United States. To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Masters degree in engineering, physics or a related field;
  • 4 years of experience working as a designer in medical device R&D (experienced a full cycle);
  • Hands-on experience in setting up and executing cross-disciplinary international R&D projects;
  • You have experience in setting up product roadmaps, you can envision strategically product lines;
  • Experience with medical device standards such as IEC 60601 & certification agencies (FDA), and implement and incorporate formal regulatory requirements;
  • Experience in communication and creating alignment between a broad variety of stakeholders both internally and externally;
  • Experience in imaging applications is considered a pre.
