Digital Video Production Assistant, NHL

Job Summary: Disney Streaming Services is looking for a driven, focused and self-starting individual to fill a part-time position in the digital video department serving NHL platforms. An ideal candidate will be able to manage, process and publish multiple team video and social requests as well as communicating effectively with team leaders on issues that may arise with deliverables. All candidates should have working knowledge in Adobe Premiere and have the confidence to be able to work alone as well as in a group setting. This is an entry-level part-time opportunity for hard-working individuals with the potential for advancement within the company. This position requires a nighttime, overnight, weekend and holiday seasonal schedule, as dictated by the NHL season and offseason. The Disney Streaming Services digital video department office is located in Secaucus, NJ. Responsibilities:
  • Manage incoming emails from teams and partners
  • Serve as liaison between multiple departments
  • Manage team created video content for publication on Disney Streaming Services properties
  • Navigate multiple in-house systems to retrieve and distribute team created video content
  • Fill social media content requests from teams and partners
  • Provide support to Content Assistant as needed
  • Identify and request highlight-worthy content
  • Write compelling metadata for video highlights
  • Curate and monitor NHL and team video pages
  • Use internal database to log highlights
  • Serve as liaison between multiple departments and organizations
  • Ensure the procurement and delivery of postgame content to teams and partners
  • Assist the Site Manager as needed
Basic Qualifications:
  • Strong knowledge of and passion for hockey the NHL
  • Strong grammar, punctuation and comprehension of AP Style
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Work well under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Must be available late nights, weekends and some holidays
  • Ability to work with a group of individuals in a shared digital space
  • Knowledge of Social Media platforms and YouTube
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Professional judgment and conduct
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with content management systems
  • Basic HTML skills
  • YouTube publishing and programming
  • Knowledge of SEO optimization
  • Strong knowledge of Adobe Photoshop
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Premiere (non-linear editing programs)
  • Experience in a live news/sports studio environment a plus
