MISSION

  • Within the Dubai Regional Office (DRO) covering the Middle East, Indian Sub-Continent, Indian Ocean Islands, Southern & Eastern Africa, you will be working on all the tax matters of the Group shipping agencies and inland transportation entities established in the region and coordinate the information sharing process to the DRO CFO (based in Dubai) and the Tax Manager Middle East and Africa (MEA) (based in France) for tax reporting purposes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Within the DRO and under the supervision of the DRO CFO and the MEA Tax Manager, you will be required to:

  • Assist Group companies established in the DRO Region in tax audits with the support of local CFOs and local external advisors (if any),
  • Assist in the development of secured and optimized tax solutions for various entities of the Group established in the DRO region,
  • Ensure tax monitoring and conduct ad hoc studies and projects in the DRO region (upon request),
  • Be involved in restructuring operations,
  • Liaise and communicate with various internal and external stakeholders mainly based in the DRO region and Europe,
  • Elaborate, complete, and share tax materials and supports to the Head Office and Regional Office,
  • Eventually be involved in the validation of tax liabilities for Group entities established in the DRO region,
  • Tax review of Group entities established in the DRO region
  • While the position is located in Dubai, there will be occasional travel across the DRO countries and to France

PROFILE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • You are a tax lawyer or/and hold a master’s degree in tax law and justify between 4 and 6-years’ experience within the tax department of an international Group, a consulting firm (big 4) and/or a law firm
  • You are familiar with and willing to work on tax matters within an international context (analysis of double tax agreements, OECD/UN model tax conventions and related commentaries, foreign tax regulations, VAT, etc.). 
  • Speaking French is a plus.
  • You are comfortable with providing written analysis and implementing solutions with respect to various tax matters/issues in an international context. 
  • Your professionalism, communication skills, team spirit and good analytical and synthesis skills are your assets to succeed in this position. Your curiosity, dynamism and autonomy will enable you to successfully carry out the tasks inherent to this position.
