Armanino LLP is seeking a highly skilled and experienced State and Local Tax Director specializing in Property Tax to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional with extensive knowledge and expertise in property tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements at the state and local levels. The State and Local Tax Director will play a critical role in providing strategic guidance, proactive planning, and compliance services to our clients, helping them optimize their property tax liabilities and minimize risks.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all aspects of property tax engagements for clients, including assessment reviews, appeals, audits, compliance, and strategic planning.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on property tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements in various jurisdictions.
  • Develop and implement proactive strategies to optimize property tax liabilities and minimize risks for clients.
  • Conduct thorough reviews and analysis of property assessments, valuations, and tax bills to identify opportunities for tax savings and efficiencies.
  • Represent clients in negotiations with taxing authorities, appeals hearings, and litigation proceedings, as needed.
  • Stay current on emerging trends, legislative changes, and industry developments related to property taxation and assess their impact on clients.
  • Collaborate with other tax professionals within the firm to deliver comprehensive tax solutions and integrated services to clients.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing exceptional service and value-added insights to help them achieve their business objectives.
  • Mentor and develop staff, providing guidance, training, and support to foster their professional growth and success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in property tax consulting, with a focus on state and local taxation.
  • Deep understanding of property tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing property tax engagements, delivering results, and exceeding client expectations.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to assess complex tax issues and develop creative solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and collaborate effectively with internal teams.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience in managing teams, mentoring staff, and fostering a positive work environment.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency in relevant tax software and Microsoft Office suite.

Certain states require us to disclose the pay range and benefits summary for job openings. Compensation Range for this position: $140, 000 - $300,000. Compensation may vary based on skills, role, and location.
