As a theme designer at Shopify, you will create beautiful, powerful, and adaptable themes that deliver exceptional online shopping experiences for our merchants’ customers to enjoy. You have A keen eye for good design, a razor-sharp attention to detail, and a strong desire to keep things as simple as possible A proven history of creating exceptional layouts and interfaces across web and mobile that use stunning artwork, photography, iconography, and typography An understanding of what it takes to design a flexible design system that can be adapted to many different uses Demonstrateable knowledge of ecommerce design patterns and shopping/purchase behaviours A passion for solving problems while wearing multiple hats and owning all facets of design (strategy, research, IA, art direction, and interaction design) Proficiency with prototyping tools and working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and GitHub An understanding that great experiences come from collaborative decision-making with front end developers, engineers, researchers, copy writers, and other sister disciplines Strong written and verbal communication skills and are able to articulate, present, and defend your design decisions The desire to contribute to a world-class design practice and a culture that is driven by growth, collaboration, and an unwavering commitment to product quality.
