Reporting to the VP HR Global Operations & Enabling Units, this HR Business Partner & Project Manager role is a strategic partner to GERE leadership team, responsible for delivering the people agenda through effective business partnering. The successful candidate will provide thought leadership for talent, organisation effectiveness and culture change.
As a Project Manager the role will be responsible for partnering with the VP HR to ensure the effective operation of the Ops & Enabling HRLT and will lead and co-ordinate HR projects across the HR team. They must be able to effectively leverage the broader HR Operating Model, working closely with the Global HRBPs, drawing on support from the Centres of Expertise (CoEs) and deploying and delivering work through HR Services.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
HR Business Partner
You will provide HR Business partnering to GERE, contributing to the development of functional area business strategies through the creation and delivery of an aligned people plan. The people plan will be informed initially and success measured subsequently, by your use and interpretation of relevant people insights (dashboards, people survey, external benchmarking, etc). This will require outstanding business partnering and your ability to influence senior stakeholders, sometimes with conflicting priorities or perspective, is critical.
You will be responsible for supporting the GERE leaders with Strategic workforce planning activities as well as coaching, supporting, mentoring and challenging leaders in the application of HR policies and practices, providing advice and guidance on complex HR issues in order to minimise risk and financial exposure.
You will engage and contract with colleagues (eg. Global HR Business Partners, CoEs and senior HR & Business leaders) to diagnose, design and deliver relevant HR interventions. Critical to this is taking HR solutions and shaping business leaders’ views and decisions, guiding them through complex HR areas such as organisation development, talent development, and culture change, and your influence and strong relationship building skills are key here. You will ensure HR solutions align to the global AZ HR Agenda by utilising global AZ HR policies, procedures, tools and techniques.
You will be required to deliver the people agenda in partnership with key GERE leaders to agreed scope, timescale, cost and benefit across or within business areas:
o Developing and managing execution of plans, including activities, resources, costs, roles & responsibilities, benefits and outcomes.
o Delivering HR solutions to required scope, on time and within budget.
o Establishing relationships with business leaders and teams, and HR stakeholders to capture business requirements and ensure their understanding and commitment to the outcomes.
o Ensuring effective status reporting.
o Ensuring risk management, benefits management and communication
Working closely with HR colleagues on the culture and climate of the GERE organisation, you will draw insights where any difficulties may arise and work proactively with the business leaders to shape a desired culture and climate in line with our AZ values and to enable the vision and strategies of GERE.
You will lead business change through effective organizational development for your areas based on strategic guidance and direction in partnership with your leadership teams and development and implement a robust talent agenda.
In your role as Project Manager across HR OPS & Enabling you will act as the chief of staff for the HR OPS & Enabling leadership team, developing agendas aligned to business priorities, facilitating meetings and tracking actions.
You will lead and co-ordinate projects which span across Operations and Enabling, recommending solutions and approaches to the VP HR and Ops/Enabling HRLT. These projects may cover a range of areas related to Strategic Workforce Planning, Reward, Performance, Talent and Organisational Development (e.g. RP19, co-ordination of common SWP activities, development of career experiences map, HR BRM preparation).
You will also represent OPS & Enabling units in cross functional HR projects where appropriate. In this role you will be required to work closely with the Global HRBP’s in OPS & Enabling but also with the COE’s and excellent collaboration and influencing skills are required.
You will bring to the role strong business acumen in terms of how AZ operates, what the business strategies are, and how financial and commercial acumen are critical considerations that shape HR and people plans. In the role you will build on that acumen to develop knowledge of how GERE enables the success of the business.
People data and analytics are essential in turning information into insights and at times business cases to drive decision making. You will be comfortable developing, modelling and driving business cases from concept to delivery. A command of financial basics, budgeting, unit P&Ls and general numeracy is key.
This role is a development role for a talent individual who would like to develop into a Global HR business partner and would benefit from the exposure to broader part of the organisation through managing projects across the breadth of Operations and Enabling without losing the direct connection to the business through active business partnering.
