Job Description

MedImmune has a new opening for an associate scientist II or Scientist I within Bioassay Development Department. The successful candidate will play an important role in the development, optimization and qualification of a wide variety of bioassays to support release, stability testing and characterization of therapeutic biologics such as antibodies, fusion proteins, oncolytic viruses, gene and cellular therapeutics.

Main responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Perform various bioassays for product release and characterization. Responsible for new assay development, qualification and validation.
  • Make detailed observations, analyse data, interpret results and exercise appropriate technical discretion in the design and execution of experiments.
  • Identify, evaluate and implement cutting-edge technologies to help to improve the analytical platform for various biologics.
  • Work in multidisciplinary matrix environment and collaborate with other scientists in research and development to achieve project goals.
  • Present and discuss experimental results at group/project team meetings and scientific conferences.
  • Author and review documents including development reports, SOPs, assay transfer protocols/reports, CMC sections of regulatory filings and scientific journal publications.

Education Requirements:

  • Associate Scientist II: Master’s Degree and five (5+) years of experience OR Bachelor’s Degree and eight (8+) years of experience.
  • Scientist I: Ph.D. and zero (0+) years of experience OR Master's Degree and eight (8+) years of experience OR Bachelor's Degree and ten (10+) years of experience.

Position Requirements:

  • Candidates must have a thorough understanding and hands-on experience in virology, molecular biology and cell-based assays.
  • Viral vector such as adeno-associated virus experience is preferred.
  • GMP working experience is a plus.
  • Good organization and planning skills with ability to manage multiple projects and tasks.
  • Excellent written, oral communication skills and teamwork skills.
