Team Overview

The Client Data team, a member of the BlackRock Data Services organization, is responsible for the overall completeness, accuracy and consistency of client data for both Institutional & Retail within Blackrock propeitary tools. The team ensures transaction and AUM data is accurately processed in SalesPage so it can be used for business management, strategy analysis, reporting and USWA commissions.  The Group oversees data processing for Mutual Fund trading and AUM data from TAs and BLK trading partners. Monitors and attributes unattributed sales within SalesPage and works with TAs, BLK trading partners and vendors to obtain better data to automate the reconciliation of trades coming into BLK. The team also is focused on cleansing and maintaining a core set of client data attributes in BlackRock’s strategic Client Relationship Management (CRM) Tool.

We are seeking a new team member in our Gurgaon office, who understands the importance of quality data and strives to maintain its integrity across systems. This role is a great opportunity to apply your knowledge of the investment management business across multiple asset classes, and demonstrate ability to analyze information, ask questions and draw conclusions.

Role Responsibility

  • Maintain, cleanse and update records within the Client Relationship Management systems (Salespage & Spectra) utilized by BlackRock's US Retail and Institutional sales channels. This could include researching information across a variety of data sources, working with internal client support groups to create data structures mimic client asset pools and connecting the client to the appropriate client firm.
  • Quality control of operational client data, including daily//weekly review of organizations, locations and contacts to identify and correct duplications and correct employment
  • Verification of client attributes for new accounts and distributor mandates and ensure alignment with contract data and/or legal documents
  • Exception monitoring of client attributes via dashboard tools and responding to user requests for ad hoc client maintenance
  • Collaborate with our team members across the Firm to ensure all data requests are completed accurately and within our agreed upon SLA   
  • Participate in special data projects as they arise, including large projects to match data between systems or the future merging of systems.   
  • Reconcile daily unattributed trades and ensure they are processed to the correct sales territories for US retail sales along with performing Mutual Fund Trade Searches to ensure trades are categorized correctly
  • Reconcile differences between BlackRock data and other data sources
  • Maintain and create standards for entering data into CRM tools.
  • Work closely with the technology team to develop tools and solve data problems.

Experience

  • 1 - 3 years experience within the Financial Services industry.
  • MBA (Finance) would be advantageous but not absolute requirement.
  • A “Student of the Markets” mentality: Intellectually curious with a passion for learning about the global financial markets and the investment management business.
  • Self-motivated worker who has a strong focus on service and ability to liaise with many groups across the company.
  • Strong multi-tasking abilities in a high performance, high demand environment
  • Strong control/risk mitigation mentality with ability to know when to escalate issues
  • Capacity for critical and independent thought, especially around process improvement
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including VBA & basic understanding of SQL
  • Outstanding work ethic and willingness to contribute beyond the scope of one's role to achieve team and firm objectives
