It is both a strategic and a tactical position. Those that do not want to get their hands dirty or build out a function against a blank slate without buying pre-packaged solutions should not apply. Key member of Legal Department who plays a central role in managing areas of focus for the company, including: financial and operational analytics and reporting; adherence to budgets, goals, and guidelines; optimization of internal and external resources; and processes and technologies. • Financial Management: Manage the Legal Department’s processes around budgets (including support of ZBB), forecasts, accruals, planning, and spend/ROI analysis. Identify and report status and potential risks to financial targets. Act as hub/single point of contact for Finance team. Help continuously sharpen Legal’s financial reporting and analytical capabilities, providing clear line of sight for Finance and supporting data-driven decisions on containing costs. • Manage External Resources: Drive, and continuously improve, processes for securing external legal services and managing performance against budget and desired outcomes, including optimizing firm portfolio, identifying most effective alternative fee arrangements for various matters/matter types, supporting rate/fee negotiations (including providing relevant data and identify opportunities for procurement synergies), uniformly and accurately tracking firms’ value and adherence matter-level budgets, staffing plans, and outside counsel guidelines. • Manage Internal Resources : Proactively mine, analyze, and report on data related to Legal’s operations and metrics (including MBOs) to drive greater productivity and efficiency while ensuring alignment with the company’s broader priorities and objectives. • Drive Processes, Systems, Technology, and Projects: Identify and manage information/knowledge management processes, tools (including templates and playbooks), and technology to increase department’s ability deliver as efficiently as possible. Develop and drive pipeline of projects to increase efficiency/effectiveness and maximize value of spend. • Provide General Operational Support: Unlock value of legal team by acting as “go-to” person to manage operational/administrative initiatives Qualifications   •Bachelor's degree required •2-15 years experience with legal operations or in a Finance role •1-15 years demonstrated understanding of financial processes (budgeting, financial forecasting, etc.) •Experience with legal technologies a plus (e.g., matter management, electronic billing, discovery management, etc.) •Process management •Priority setting / ability manage multiple projects simultaneously •Problem-solving •Interpersonal savvy and organizational agility / ability to work across functions and within a collaborative environment. •Drive for results         Kraft Heinz Company, Inc. is an equal employment employer and is committed to providing employment opportunities to minorities, females, veterans, and disabled individuals.
