Mechatronics Test and Analysis Engineer

Sarcos is seeking a highly motivated and hands-on engineer with a strong theoretical background engineering mechanics and industrial mechatronic test and analysis experience for the new product development group.

The individual will play a critical role in functions related to the development of Sarcos new robotics and electro-mechanical devices product lines.  The candidate must have relevant experience with electro-mechanical system dynamics, engineering analysis (closed form, lumped parameter modeling, and finite element techniques), and testing both on the lab bench and with full-scale prototypes.


  • Close-form analyses of mechanisms
  • Analyzing the kinematics of a mechanism to determine linkage and joint loads/performance
  • Structural and thermal analysis (Incl. FEA)
  • Physics-based simulations
  • Design and conduct laboratory and prototype testing
  • Preparation and participation in technical and engineering reviews

  • Masters of Science in Mechanical Engineering as a Mechanical Engineer or Mechanical Analyst and 5 years industrial experience or PhD/ME with 3 years industrial experience in analyzing high performance mechanisms and electro-mechanical devices
  • Basic knowledge of electronics design
  • Deep understanding and experience with finite element analysis and physics based simulation
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of mechanical design, engineering materials, solid modeling and testing technologies

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

  • Work is performed Monday through Friday with occasional overtime and weekends based on business requirements.
  • Safety awareness is essential at all times while in the work area.
  • Must be able to stand and sit for extended times.
