See Yourself as a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will help navigate cloud computing needs, including infrastructure design, maintenance, support and planning, and help evolve Radian's cloud capabilities and technical skills over time to meet the future, unknown needs of business lines and products.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Working in tandem with our engineering team to identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions for the company.
  • Deploying and debugging cloud initiatives as needed in accordance with best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Planning, designing and developing cloud-based Infrastructure.
  • Building/Maintaining/Updating the monitoring tools to monitor systems, network, and infrastructure.
  • Managing cloud environments in accordance with company security guidelines.
  • Lead and develop best practices for larger Cloud Engineering teams.

Job Specifications

Knowledge:

  • Deployment and management of distributed web applications on Azure cloud environments. 
  • Cloud Native architecture experience with Docker, Kubernetes and Helm
  • Strong Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience and knowledge
  • Familiarity with database technologies such as Postgres and ElasticSearch
  • Hands-on experience managing compute, networking, storage and other cloud Services.
  • Strong awareness of networking and internet protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP and distributed networks.
  • Familiarity with Financial Services Business.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as JavaScript, Python, GO, Groovy, Bash.
  • Experience using Terraform or other infrastructure as code tools.
  • Experience in using source code management system such as GIT.
  • Experience implement CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, etc.
  • Experience with open-source technologies and cloud services.
  • CKAD or CKA Kubernetes Certification (Nice to Have)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to explain protocol and processes with team and management.
  • Stellar troubleshooting skills with the ability to spot issues before they become problems.
  • Current with industry trends, IT ops and industry best practices, and able to identify the ones we should implement.
  • Time and project management skills, with the capability to prioritize and multitask as needed.

Other Position Parameters:

  • 3-5 years of IT and Dev Ops experience

  • Technical: 3 - 5 years
  • Supervisory: None

Education and Credentials

  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Experience
  • Preferred: Master’s Degree
