Technical Sales Specialist (Biologics Purification)

Role:

The APJ(APAC and Japan) Purification TSS(Technical Sales Specialist) shall identify, develop, coordinate and drive key opportunities in Korea and Japan region for the Purification strategic business segment for PPA(Purification and Pharma Analytics).

They shall report to the Sr. Manager PPA in APJ region and enable the county based Purification TSS(Technical Sales Specialist), FAS(Field Application Specialist, 응용지원) and BAM(Bioproduction Account Manager, Sales) teams to successfully identify and close Purification opportunities and grow the new business and evaluation pipeline. 

Responsibilities:

  • The Technical Sales Specialist Purification will be responsible for the development and execution of Biopharma Purification Business (POROS and CaptureSelect) in the APJ regions focusing on New biosimilar development, CDMO and CGT markets 
  • Identify customer opportunities, needs and requirements, drive business growth in APJ region. 
  • Be responsible for business growth target, by directly working with customers on selected CDMO, CMO, CGT portfolio focus, and by facilitating country TSS(Technical Sales Specialist) and BAM(Bioproduction Account Manager, Sales) to identify new customers 
  • Provide necessary support such as technical proposal, on site seminars, and in-depth technology conversations with customers to acquire and retain customers.
  • Act as advocator to re-enforce Thermo Fisher Scientific’s technologies and marketing messages for CGT & NPI business 
  • Collect market dynamics information, customer’s application trend and competition updates, communicate with marketing, peer sales teams and other functions, to help to analyze impact, counter measures, either for short term or long-term business strategy.
  • The Technical Sales Specialist will identify and engage the key opinion leaders in target markets in close collaboration with the In- country Technical Sales Specialist, Bioproduction Account Managers, BID CGT team, Distributor networks and the Field Application Specialist team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Based on profound knowledge of Pharma/Biopharma process development, manufacturing, and downstream purification, complete business objectives to continue and expand the adoption of POROS and Capture Select Range of PURIFICATION resins
  • The role requires selling at all levels with the technical, manufacturing, and commercial partners all requiring a distinct sales approach in these organizations.
  • Together with the Bioproduction Account Manager, manage Key Accounts with key influencers based in the regions, some of which may span to other geographies.
  • Together with the Business Manager(s), build and complete a plan for market development in the region
  • Competes for all existing and develops new sales opportunities within the territory to meet or exceed targets.
  • Act at high level with key influencers and relevant Process development and manufacturing and RND departments to drive business using a Top-Down approach.
  • Provide accurate forecast and lost order reporting as well as competitive information on a regular basis.
  • Ensures that all necessary resources needed are used efficiently and effectively to increase Purification business.
  • Co-ordinate with country Purification partners to address all issues with key clients between sales, support, customer services, marketing, and finance.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

  • above 8 years professional experience with Master degree or above 3 years professional experience with PhD degre.
  • Degree in Chemical Engineering , Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Microbiology, Bioprocess Engineering, Bio Sciences, B.Pharm, M.Pharm or equivalent is preferred.
  • Proven track of previous experience in Technical Sales position, or sales experience.
  • Preferably with domain knowledge from Biopharma / Pharma Industry.
  • Business Level of English proficiency, Fluent in Korean language.
  • Exposure to CRM tools : PBI , SFDC is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Bioprocessing and Downstream purification workflow desired.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the region
