Job Summary

The Inventory Analyst manages and optimizes warehouse inventory levels for the health system's distribution center. They achieve service level and inventory turnover goals. They evaluate network requisition data to provide inventory purchase forecasts and execute purchase orders. They communicate daily with vendors to optimize delivery dates and quantities for consistent inventory management.

Essential Functions of the Role

  • Ensures inventory items are restocked according to reorder points and amounts. The target customer fill rate is 99.7%. Ensures daily placement and follow-up of general store orders.
  • Communicates all significant inventory information to the Director to help facilitate shortage detection or problem resolution.
  • Maintains accurate inventory levels within planning parameters. Monitors reorder points and amounts monthly to ensure inventory matches usage and demand. Utilizes statistical tools, historical LDC demand analysis, and filters outliers. In some cases, uses forecast input from the field.
  • Performs ABC examination to establish product usage and inventory levels and reports information to leadership.
  • Evaluates inventory replenishment cycles to balance labor, space, and customer need. Maintains and creates entries in WMS (Lawson and FT) for stocking, assigning, and tracking products in DC reports. Maintains inventory records with a target of over 99% accuracy.
  • Review slow-moving and zero balance reports. Ensure slow-moving and zero balance SKUs stay below 1%.
  • Reviews product backorders daily and creates a resolution method to ensure customer service is not compromised. Provides immediate product status and inventory changes to customers through voice, email, and internal communication tools.
  • Facilitates inventory reduction by returning excess products to vendors and ensuring proper credits. Adheres to and enforces E&O policy.
  • Helps in the identification and removal of all product suspensions or recalls in the warehouse inventory.

Key Success Factors

  • Must have excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Computer skills to include inventory management software and associated Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, etc.) required.
  • Excellent critical and problem-solving skills, with ability to help reasoned thinking and conclusions required.
  • Must be able to excel in a team environment. Meet all safety, productivity and accuracy requirements.
  • Advanced comprehension of warehouse distribution philosophy required.
  • Exceptional teamwork and partnership skills.
