CVS Health has a dynamic opportunity for an Eastern Safety Division Leader to join our team! The Eastern Safety Division Leaser is assigned the East Coast from Florida to Maine and OH, MI and PA. This position can be based within the assigned area.
The Eastern Safety Division Leader is directly responsible for managing an assigned area as well as managing a team of 5 Area Safety Managers within the designated division. Accountable for managing goals for division, establishing strong partnerships, ensuring regulatory compliance and establishing programs to reduce injuries and associated costs. Utilize metrics to drive safety across multiple business units. Conduct team meetings, attend and present at district and regional meetings. Accountable to workers compensation, general liability frequency and severity rates, as well as ensuring adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local laws for OSHA, fire and related regulations to operating safe buildings. Accountable for ensuring safety procedures are being complied within all levels of the operations and developing safe and compliant programs as necessary. Accountable for supporting the treasury department and EHS initiatives making safety a priority in all facets of day to day business.
1. Manage and lead a designated area and a team of safety managers
2. Manage division goals, expectations, and develop teams skills
3. Utilize metrics to identify districts, regions and areas requiring focused strategies
4. Evaluates the overall cost of risk to CVS and provides guidance and assistance in the development of strategies to continually reduce these incidents and exposures.
5. Attend RM/DM /ALPD meetings
6. Conduct joint visits with team and field management
7. Conduct assessments of stores etc within your designated area
8. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements to include all federal and state mandated programs, OSHA, fire and other duties
9. Hold weekly touch base meetings with individual team members
10. Thorough knowledge of fire, OSHA regulations. Understanding of food safety and emergency procedures.

The successful candidate will possess the following skills:
• Ability to implement programs that are designed to mitigate risk and reduce claims for assigned region.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work within a team environment and independently.
• Ability to work within the Microsoft Suite, Word, Excel, Access, etc.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of professional corporate experience
- Minimum of 2 years of team leadership and skills development experience
- Minimum of 2 years experience working with OSHA and other regulatory agencies
- Minimum of 1 year experience with fire protection regulations, and hazardous materials
- Ability and willingness to travel by car and airplane up to 80% of the time
- Must possess a valid and current driver’s license
- Must possess personal vehicle which company deems reasonably reliable and is appropriately insured

Preferred Qualifications
Retail Industry experience preferred.

Bachelors degree or equivalent years of related professional work experience in combination with years of education may be considered in lieu of a degree.
