IT Systems Engineer



Job Summary
Leidos has a career opportunity for an IT Systems Engineer at Cannon AFB New Mexico. The Systems Engineer must be able to apply analysis techniques and procedures to determine hardware, software or network/system functional specifications as well as designing, developing, testing and modifying computer systems and programs based on user or design specifications. Candidate must possess a current TS/SCI security clearance and meet DoD 8570 certification requirements in order to be considered. The Security Plus certification is the minimum certification to be qualified for this position.

Primary Responsibilities
The System Engineer is to support daily operations, troubleshooting systems problems and conducting requirements analysis with the site team, lead upgrades, developmental  and installation work. Work as the site Systems Engineer with a team of Systems Administrators, Network Administrators and a Network Engineer within the Air Force’s Remote Piloted Aircraft Operations Center located at Cannon AFB New Mexico. Must support systems across multiple enclaves and multiple levels of classification from Unclassified to Top Secret Sensitive Compartmental Information level. Assist the site to maintain multiple virtual environments that currently operate on Citrix with NetApp storage systems, interconnectivity of servers, computers and phones for multiple enclaves. Manage system back-ups and restore protocol, plan and support computing infrastructure, monitor system performance and implement performance tuning.

General responsibilities include: Technical planning, system hardware-software-network design, development and integration, verification and validation, and fielding. Evaluates alternatives including cost and risk, supportability and analyses for total systems. Duties include performing systems requirements analysis, functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition, technical management, integration, system testing, and quality assurance.


Basic Qualifications 
-Bachelors’ Degree with 6 years’ of applicable experience or 4 additional years’ of experience in lieu of degree. Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI Clearance. Must have 2+ years JAVA experience.
-Bachelor’s degree in related technical discipline and 4+ years of related experience (Experience will be considered in lieu of degree)
-Candidate must have experience working with virtual environments, NAS storage
-Require C4ISR (Command, Control, Computers, Communications, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) or equivalent experience
-Excellent communication skills in team environments and superior customer service skills are mandatory
-Must be able to work independently
-Must be able to physically lift 50lbs
-Must have a current Security+ required by DoD 8570.
-Must have a DoD TS/SCI Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications
-Prior military IT experience, experience working with SOCOM or JSOC systems is a plus
-Experience with UAV operations centers
-Citrix classes or certifications and familiarity with the mutli-domain Secure View system is a plus
