About the Role

As a Technical Lead within our Market Data Team, you’ll develop, simplify and continuously improve our software engineering capability. This is a hands-on role that focuses on building and enhancing engineering capabilities, improving technical practices and helping shape the future of our approaches, platforms and frameworks.  Duties include: -

  • Supporting delivery teams through advice, coaching, leadership and enablement of engineers within IRESS
  • Identify opportunities and risks for delivering the company’s engineering capabilities, including identification of competitive services, opportunities for innovation, and assessment of obstacles and technical hurdles to delivery and client success. 
  • Identify technology trends and evolving consumer behaviour that may support or impede the success of the business. 

  • Evaluate and identify appropriate technology platforms for delivering the company’s solutions and product offerings. 

  • Collaborate with the appropriate departments to assess and recommend technologies that support IRESS software solutions and products as well as internal organisational needs. 

  • Take a leadership role in the development and execution of an enterprise-wide information security plan that protects the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the company’s data and information systems. 
  • Review current practices for the selected development frameworks and assist in establishing and implementing the initial architecture for new services, solutions or products. 

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technology standards, industry trends, emerging technologies, and software engineering best practices. 

  • Help ensure that technology standards and approaches are consistent and maintained within IRESS
  • Communicate the technology strategy to others within IRESS, including technology people and teams as well as other stakeholders.
  • Finding better ways of doing things
  • Work closely with Delivery Team Lead, Head of Technology Delivery, Product Managers etc.

About You

  • Expert knowledge of technical architecture, cryptographic algorithms, software engineering and infrastructure
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills and able to translate complex technical subjects for a diverse audience and all levels of management
  • Proven ability to navigate ambiguity and collaborate with other functional leaders to provide positive outcomes
  • Technical aptitude to probe, assess and understand their technology environment
  • Skilled in influencing and engaging non-direct reports
