Houston's packaging engineering team is seeking a Sr. Packaging Technical Project Manager to lead the scheduling, risk management, and status communication for innovative packaging programs, collaborating closely with packaging engineers to develop and implement cutting-edge solutions tailored for the Megafactory. These solutions must effectively protect products while seamlessly integrating with automated material flow and manufacturing lines, all while ensuring financial viability. In this role, you will partner with a broad cross-functional team—including supply chain, design, planning, manufacturing, and material flow stakeholders—to identify, prioritize, and execute packaging projects that support production ramp-up and drive overall cost reductions. As a thought leader, you will spearhead solution development and project execution, building deep expertise in the Packaging development process and returnable operation. Success requires strategic thinking to connect high-level objectives with granular deliverables, while simultaneously managing process and tool improvement initiatives.

What You'll Do

Collaborate with factor stakeholders such are production, material flow, operations and quality teams to develop backlog of packaging engineering projects

Manage packaging improvement requests and assign priorities

Manage assignment of projects to respective packaging engineers and drive on time completion of project through unlocking potential risks bottlenecks

Ensure project tracking compliance in JIRA and report risks to management and stakeholders

Identify data, process gaps and areas for optimization and automation while supporting management with dashboards, KPIs and ad-hoc analyses

Drive problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives to improve packaging workflows and supply chain operations processes

Publish periodic and ad-hoc update reports regarding packaging improvement plans to factory leadership teams

What You'll Bring

Degree in Industrial Engineering, Packaging Engineering, Supply Chain, Engineering Management, or equivalent experience

Working knowledge of material flow, supply chain, purchasing and transportation management systems

Structured, data-driven and quantitative problem solving approach

Proven ability to set expectations, manage to deadlines and hold individuals and teams accountable to critical milestones

Ability to drive strategic discussions and convert strategy to action

Experience or exposure to quality function in automotive industry is preferred

Work experience in packaging function, manufacturing, or quality is preferred
