What To Expect

Tesla is seeking a motivated, experienced, and knowledgeable Supply Chain Program Manager to support optimization of logistics, warehousing and material flow costs through packaging and supply chain improvements. This is a cross-functional role that involves data collection from logistics, planning, packaging and other stakeholders to model, scope high value cost reduction opportunities and responsible for accelerated execution of logistics optimization opportunities identified.

What You'll Do

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including logistics, warehouse operations, production, and procurement to ensure effective packaging solutions are in place

Root cause supply chain issues and support prompt resolution of escalations and be accountable for logistics optimization efforts from supply chain

Review BOM packaging data and TMS (Transportation management system) data to identify opportunities for logistics efficiency improvements through packaging changes

Ensure packaging readiness to support logistics optimization efforts including JIT, RO, Milk-runs and logistics mode changes

Define, execute and improve packaging testing procedures and timelines for FTL to IMDL logistics route conversions

Work with Tier 1 suppliers and internal packaging team counterparts to development and implement changes to packaging design requires for intermodal conversions

Develop, track and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to packaging and logistics performance and test pack out configurations to optimize cube utilization and minimize shipping damage

What You'll Bring

3-5 years of professional experience in manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, and/or evidence of exceptional ability

Fluent in both English and Spanish (written and verbal) as this will be essential for effective communication with suppliers and carriers

Degree in Engineering or equivalent in experience and evidence of exceptional ability

Strong analytical and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple high priority demands simultaneously; ability to achieve success in situations with high degrees of variation and complexity

Self-driven initiative to gain and implement a broad knowledge of warehousing and supply chain best practices

Exceptional project and system management skills

Passionate and high energy, possessing the diplomacy and cooperative style to positively influence outcomes
