Overview

  • This position will be physically located in Kuwait in support of LOGCAP** 

The Automation System Analyst will work with the Network and Software Development Teams for dedicated support. Under the general direction of the Automated Support Manager, the Automation Systems Analyst will manage the local data processing and office automation functions and services. Plans, designs, develops, and implements complex computer-based departmental information systems which operate in a Standalone, Local Area Network (LAN) and/or Wide Area Network (WAN) environment. Conducts systems, statistical, and quantitative/management analyses; performs related duties as required.

  • Prepares and reviews a variety of IT reports, correspondence and other documents.
  • Contribute to the development and on-going support of upstream and midstream applications.
  • Aid in the development and administration of control network IT systems including installation, monitoring, performance utilization, upgrades, backups, recovery and overall operations.
  • Provide guidance and consultation in technical matters such as control network integration, hardware selection, and system configuration.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies for current projects and future initiatives; applicable to system architecture, data management, and other similar areas.
  • Prepare documentation and training to support IT and Automation processes.
  • Develop partnerships with both corporate and region resources
  • Serves as resource consultant for an organization on data analysis and processing, research methodology, and systems development; may document technical data descriptions; analyze program coding requirements, operator instructions, and organizational procedures.
  • Proposes and coordinates the development of systems, configuration, which may include networking systems; develops systems edits and determines the number of fields and screens; develops access codes; determines information required of each screen; writes and modifies local application programs.
  • Interacts with IT team, hardware/software vendors regarding office automation technology and the department's needs; writes detailed specifications; evaluates equipment and software capabilities; performs cost/benefit analysis; makes recommendations to management; Collaborates with the Software Developers on projects.
  • Conducts procedural, informational and functional systems analyses for the purposes of automating systems, designing new and/or modified systems and providing statistical and quantitative data to management; identifies problem areas and performs needs assessments; performs cost benefit analysis on proposed systems.
  • Instructs and trains organizational personnel on data processing operations, including distributed and networking computer systems; resolves data processing service complaints between organizational users
  • Defines all of the data processing systems requirements performed on the central computers for a department/organization; identifies organizational data processing and computing needs.
  • Designs and/or assists in designing more difficult systems, provides input and output requirement formats; oversees the implementation of new systems and ensures their proper operation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:
  • Personal computer, server, printers, network equipment, and other general office equipment.
  • WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
  • Work is generally conducted in an area with a mild exposure to extreme climactic conditions. Must comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations, and published Company work rules. Work is in a very challenging environment.
  • PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
  • Work may require heavy lifting (up to 40 pounds), stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical or biological agents. Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE)is required for some situations. PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
  • Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and Camp policies.
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
  • High School Diploma; College degree in Business Administration or Information Technology or equivalent experience; IT related certifications desirable.
  • Capable of effectively communicating technical information in English, both written and verbal
  • Experience:
  • In addition to excellent oral and written communications skills, the ideal candidate should have the ability to provide technical software, and hardware problem resolution, make independent decisions by performing question/problem diagnosis. Ability to document, research, identify, and attempt to solve technical problems on initial call and/or triage where appropriate for resolution.
  • 3-5 years of operation and development experience with Enterprise Application.
  • Experience developing and maintaining web servers in a Microsoft environment (Server 2008 – 2016), SharePoint (2007-2013),
  • Visual Studio, SQL Server 2008 or above)
  • 3-5 years development experience with VB, Java, .NET or equivalent tools.
  • One (1) year supervising or leading experiencing.
  • Basic understanding of Help Desk support
  • Strong customer service experience
  • Handle technical and escalations and sensitive situations
  • Must maintain Secret Clearance.
  • Skills:
