Job Title:  Advanced Services Consulting Engineer – SDN and Network Automation

           

                                   

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Provides "forward-looking" technical services to optimize network reliability and performance for designated key customers.  Evaluates the customer's network for performance, scalability, and security and provides recommendations to network configurations and topologies to improve operational performance and identify/ mitigate major risk areas. Applies a broad technical understanding of the customer's current network architecture, and partners with the customer’s network support team to create and execute a long-term network plan with the customer.  Also, partners on short-term projects such as recommendation and implementation of new Juniper software and hardware features in the customer's network. 

 

*Uses professional expertise and knowledge to deliver risk mitigation and optimization services to Advanced Services customers.
*Informs customer of major risks in current and target software releases to help customer to make educated decision regarding software.
*Assists in conducting Juniper product health checks and product trending in order to identify potential product performance problem areas.
*Advises and consults with customers when questions or concerns related to network health, risk mitigation, implementation planning and optimization of Juniper products in their network.
*Reviews and evaluates customer network plans and assists in new feature implementation and product deployment planning.
*Reviews and evaluates customer network design and makes configuration/topology recommendation(s) to optimize operational performance.
*Follows-up on hardware or software performance trends identified by the Service Manager to develop resolutions.
*Document s and maintains customer network solutions knowledge and educates other internal Juniper resources for better support experience.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

 

*Degree or comparable qualification in Computer Science or Informatics with a strong Computer network affinity.

*Multi-year experience with SDN, Automation and Network Orchestration technologes, (Contrail, Northstar, AppFormix, Openstack desirable and/or other industry equivalent)

*Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience implementation and troubleshooting technical support of large, complex IP- Based Networks which may include multiple vendors.   

*Minimum of 3 years experience designing IP networks.

*In-depth and demonstrable knowledge of programming languages and scripting, (Python, ansible, Django, javascript).

*In-depth, demonstrated architecture knowledge of protocols service provider networks, at both network and system levels.

*Conversant with software development practices, (Agile, KANBAN desirable).

*Can accurately and completely document design, network change and problem report.

*Strong customer interface, communication, interpersonal skills and have demonstrated a history of high-level achievement in cross-functional and culturally diverse global organizations.

*Expert communication and interpersonal skills.

*Juniper product certifications (JNCIE-M) or industry equivalent strongly desired.
