Sr. Principal System Administrators, internally known as Sr. Principal infrastructure Workplace Services, collaborate with a diverse team to support exciting, critical programs with classified information system capabilities. Success in this role means you are able to develop, implement and maintain secure, cost-efficient environments across various classified programs. Program teams rely on your collaboration and guidance to define computing requirements and create end-to-end solutions to solve complex IT infrastructure problems.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Administering Red Hat Linux based systems with minimal support, to include patching, creating RPM packages, performance tuning, networking, user management (LDAP), and security.
  • Experience with scripting
  • Hardware and software troubleshooting
  • Using and developing with automation tools/frameworks such as Terraform, Ansible, and Chef
  • Installing, administering, and troubleshooting recent versions of VMware (ESXi and vCenter)
  • Deployment and administration of systems in Amazon WebServices (AWS)/Commercial Cloud Services (C2S)
  • Must be able to support occasional after hour maintenance and on-call support.
  • Must be able to lift to 35 pounds in support of hardware installations.
  • Full time 100% Onsite position
  • Up to 5% travel

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires bachelor’s degree and minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or a master’s degree and minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Must have an active and transferable U.S. government issued TS/SCI with CI Poly security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Must have Linux experience.
  • Must have an active DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification (or higher) on start date. IAT Level 2 requires one or more of the following Professional Certifications: Security+ CE, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, CySA+, CND.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience administering Windows based systems.
  • Proficiency with Enterprise level administration of common services such as DNS, sendmail, and LDAP
  • Strong analytic and research skills - must be detail oriented.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and troubleshoot problems with efficiency.
  • Requires the ability to effectively interact with external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations and vendors.

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
