Eaton’s Electrical Sector in EMEA is seeking a Director Program Management Office.
What you’ll do:
The Director PMO for the Electrical Sector in EMEA leads a centralized Program Management Office, ensuring the successful delivery of strategic, cross-divisional initiatives. This role establishes and governs best-in-class project management practices, drives portfolio visibility and prioritization, and supports business transformation across all divisions and functions within region (with the exception of NPI).
Key responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Business Alignment
- Translate regional business and manufacturing strategy into a prioritized portfolio of manufacturing footprint, functional, and transformation programs
- Partner with regional and global senior leadership to shape, align, and sponsor strategic initiatives
- Define clear program and project goals, success criteria, and value realization targets aligned with regional and enterprise objectives
- Lead complex, cross‑functional, and cross‑business transformation programs with measurable business outcomes
Portfolio & Program Management
- Own regional project and program portfolio management, including prioritization, sequencing, and value optimization
- Define and structure programs into coherent workstreams and sub‑projects with clear scope, accountabilities, and interdependencies
- Drive resource allocation and capacity planning across the portfolio to ensure optimal utilization and delivery focus
- Regularly review portfolio health and reprioritize initiatives in line with evolving business needs
Governance, Risk & Performance Management
- Establish and continuously evolve robust project governance frameworks, decision forums, and escalation mechanisms
- Monitor program and project performance against scope, schedule, cost, risks, and benefits
PMO Functional Excellence & Standards
- Develop, deploy, and govern PMO methodologies, processes, tools, and standards across the region
- Drive PMO functional excellence, consistency, and best‑practice adoption while enabling pragmatic local execution
- Ensure transparent, high‑quality status reporting and executive‑level dashboards for senior stakeholders
- Track and report KPIs and portfolio metrics to demonstrate performance, predictability, and value delivery
Leadership, Coaching & Capability Building
- Provide strategic guidance, coaching, and oversight to program and project managers across the region
- Set clear project‑level objectives and expectations for delivery teams
- Build strong project management capabilities, fostering a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement
- Sponsor professional development and operational excellence mindset within the PMO community
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
- Act as the primary interface between project teams, functional leaders, business leaders, and executive sponsors
- Facilitate alignment, collaboration, and effective decision‑making across complex stakeholder groups
- Ensure clear, timely, and consistent communication on progress, risks, and outcomes both within and outside the PMO
Change Management & Continuous Improvement
- Lead change management for large‑scale regional transformation initiatives
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the centralized PMO organization
- Embed lessons learned, operational excellence practices, and standardization across programs and regions
Expertise & Thought Leadership
- Bring deep knowledge of manufacturing and/or functional processes within an international industrial environment
- Apply Operations Excellence methodologies and transformation techniques (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, CI)
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on transformation execution, delivery risk, and organizational readiness
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline, ideally Master's degree
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, Scrum certification beneficial
Experience:
- 15+ years of experience, with a minimum of 10 years at a senior level, in Program Management within an industrial/manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of PROlaunch methodologies. Proficiency with PM tools (e.g. MS Project, Jira etc.)
- Experience in building and/or transforming a PMO in a matrixed, regional or global organization
- Proven track record managing complex, cross-functional programs with regional or global scope
- Strong understanding of operational and business transformation initiatives
- Depth in risk management and managing cross-functional interdependencies
- Familiarity with industry trends and regulations, with experience in the Electrical Sector preferred
