Job Description

Strategy at Digitas is a multi-disciplinary team of Creative, Social, Experience and Connections Strategy experts, unified by a shared ambition to inspire ideas that move people. 

To further accelerate this ambition, we are looking for an outstanding Vice President Group Director, Connections Strategy (CRM) – someone who champions a modern approach to connected brand experiences powered by data; who understands consumer behavior and context, and architects and orchestrates strategic communications to define how pharmaceutical brands connect to people in a digital world.

Job Responsibilities: 

As VP/Group Director, Connections Strategy focusing on CRM, your comprehensive media and marketing expertise will be essential to providing strategic thought leadership on key client engagements across multiple client accounts.

Demonstrating an intimate understanding of how consumers interact with addressable channels and technology, this pivotal role demands a focus on how to most effectively solve clients' business challenges through an orchestrated system of paid, owned and earned touchpoints that inspires connected creativity and is powered by macro and micro insights.

Day-to-day, your role will concentrate on guiding strategy across key accounts while delivering industry-leading service, which includes:

  • Leading the analysis on how consumers interact with CRM communications through research and rigorous data analysis of performance data and segmentation insights
  • Leading the development of strategy that informs when, where and how a brand should connect; orchestrating efforts across CRM channels 
  • Championing the use of data; partnering with data-scientists to guide the activation of data-driven segmentation insights and ideate contact strategies that a brand needs to provide to influence audiences
  • Inspiring and reimagining the activation of data-driven (0P, 1P,3P) insights and maximize the use of marketing technology to activate contact strategies that meet and anticipate customer needs
  • Evaluating CRM maturity and opportunities for improving lifetime value
  • Envisioning the design of orchestrated systems of brand communications, partnering with integrated marketing and creative teams to bring customer-centric experiences to life
  • Crafting stories based on the motivation behind customer behaviors to reveal what is the value exchange for establishing a direct relationship between the brand and its customers and be able to deliver on that promise 
  • Partnering with cross- capability leaders at a matrixed organization to translate the holistic communications plan into innovative CRM programs, resulting in smartly-mapped marketing tactics that deliver on stated goals 
  • Setting direction for the evolution and ongoing management of a connections’ toolkit – a consistent approach to connections strategy outputs 
  • Leading senior-level client workshops, from crafting a client’s strategic vision to defining strategic frameworks, to building a prioritized set of customer experiences
  • Building senior-level client relationships; providing guidance on their competitive threats and evolving consumer behaviors to guide their teams toward the next generation of holistic brand experience solutions that drive business impact
  • Supporting business development efforts and delivering high-quality and compelling recommendations
  • Managing the development of the team; inspiring and leading direct reports and extended partner, and guiding the quality of agency output and its impact

Qualifications

This pivotal role requires a depth of expertise (12-14 years; 4-year college degree, Masters helpful), including a track record of impactful work experience and professional ingenuity – which means you are:

  • A digital media-savvy marketer and passionate problem-solver with the unstoppable drive to inspire teams and bring the best work to life, based on your expertise with omni-channel media orchestration
  • A proven track record leading teams and innovative CRM solutions amplifying the use of data, Martech and customer trends
  • A cross-channel thinker with exceptional knowledge of CRM, who is adept at innovative channel selection and role definition that creates the synergy between conceptual ideas and the possibilities of execution
  • A strong analytical thinker and translator with exceptional research dexterity, to uncover the data and insights that drives strategic communications planning and implementation
  • A creative provocateur and persuasive storyteller who is endlessly curious and questioning with a keen ability to shift perspective as well as illuminate powerful insights and creative potential through data and narrative
  • A CRM expert who understands how data and technology enable personalization at scale and is skilled at working in highly matrixed organizations to bring this to life
  • A proven leader and relationship builder who can provide both an authoritative presence with executive-level clients while fostering partnership and collaboration with all levels of the agency and its partners that will drive growth
  • An approachable manager with a strong history of team oversight and talent development; known for an ability to coach and grow talent, providing vision and bringing people along
  • An all-around seasoned professional with exceptional communication, organizational and time management skills, and the flexibility to adapt quickly to change

“Compensation Range: $153,000 - $240,500 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
