About the role

As an Account Manager within the Enterprise and Government sales team, your role will be to establish and maintain ‘value-add’ products/services for our Federal Government clients. You will be responsible for developing and carrying out strategic plans to grow Optus market share within this defined portfolio to grow existing business and identify new opportunities for growth.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Leading an extended team of consulting architects, customer support and product specialists.
  • Developing Territory Plans, Account Plans, Account Strategy and execution of complex solutions (Telecommunications, Modern Workspace, Cloud and Data Centre, Cyber Security, Mobile Voice and Data).
  • Maintaining high-level sales activity to generate effective opportunity pipelines
  • Maximise billed revenue, forecasting and reporting.
  • Partner to maintain relationships both internally and externally to cover contract activities, account queries and support.
  • Collaborate across all Optus divisions to ensure that new business is implemented effectively and customers best practice satisfaction is met.
  • Ensuring Optus CRM system/s up to date with all relevant data, and producing reports for management as required.

Please note; This role involves closely working with the Australian Government and will potentially have access to classified information/resources. As such, a security clearance is required and therefore it is a mandatory requirement that the successful applicant is an Australian Citizen.

About you

You will bring deep experience within Government sales and possess a proven track record of success in leveraging a mix of panel contracts, vendor partnerships, bespoke customer solutions and industry insights for ICT solutions sales. You are an experienced sales professional who can bring a consultative selling style and sell technical product/service business solutions. Additionally, you will also bring to the role:

  • Widespread previous experience in Federal Government marketplace, and B2B sales environment.
  • Well-developed business acumen skills with the ability to communicate and engage effectively at C level.
  • Ability to effectively negotiate complex sales at senior levels.
  • Previous experience in the development of account, opportunity plans and internal business cases (planning, self-management & administration).
  • Demonstrated experience of high-quality Sales Hygiene; maintaining a CRM to manage customer contracts and opportunities.
  • You must be an Australian Citizen and eligible to acquire a Federal Government Security clearance.
