Position Title Mid-Level Water / Wastewater Process Engineer

AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented Water/Wastewater Process Engineer for full-time employment in Denver, CO, Albuquerque, NM, Phoenix, AZ, or Salt Lake City, UT. The engineer will work in the AECOM Water Business unit on various water/wastewater projects including but not limited municipal water/wastewater treatment design, hydraulic systems, pumps and pipe design, cost estimate, project schedule, planning and feasibility. AECOM is searching for enthusiastic seller/doer candidates that are client focused, impactful, decisive and have the ability to serve as a role model. The successful candidate will sit in the Albuquerque, Denver, Phoenix or Salt Lake office and will lead and/or provide design, technical expertise, client coordination and networking, business development, and work closely with project managers to support the local office and other regional offices. The position will involve working on projects for state, local municipalities, federal agencies, and private clients. The successful candidate will have a previous experience in design and analysis in water systems, water treatment, and/or wastewater treatment.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Perform technical engineering tasks for the design and analysis of water and wastewater process systems
Prepare technical reports documenting findings and clearly conveying results to clients
Work closely with Project Managers and other staff members in a collaborative work environment
Travel to work site for collection of data or construction observation
Assist with developing scope, schedule, and budget for design projects
Bachelor degree in Civil, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering
5+ year’s water/wastewater engineering experience
Professional Engineering License required or can be achieved within 6 months of hire
Must have experience in the design/construction of water/wastewater, water and sewer utility projects
Capable of supporting multiple projects at a time and meet project schedules
Demonstrated ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ownership and accountability for quality deliverables
Ability to effectively and efficiently communicate the technical aspects of projects to a wide audience
Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal communication skills, and organizational skills
Must possess a valid driver's license
Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required
Good understanding of local and regional markets and able to support marketing effort in pursuing work
Project experience in process and piping rehab projects
Experience or interest in business operations and internal finance
Demonstrated understanding of business development and proposal response process
Project Management experience and familiarity in navigating corporate policies and procedures
