Senior Audit Manager – Enterprise Risk Management and Climate Risk

Job Description

The Enterprise Risk Management and Climate team is responsible for supporting Corporate Audit Services assurance coverage over the risk management framework. This role will focus on various risk Enterprise Risk Management processes and programs, climate risk management, and certain forecasting activities. Responsibility for supporting the implementation and execution of centralized and distributed audit strategies across internal audit, challenging and monitoring the internal audit plan, and supporting the development of the internal audit opinion on the adequacy and effectiveness of the risk management framework.

The candidate will be responsible for being an internal audit subject matter expert supporting coverage and evaluation of ERM processes including:

  • Risk identification, including concentrations
  • Risk appetite and measurement
  • Aggregate risk profile across risk disciplines
  • Emerging risk identification
  • Policy management
  • End-user computing
  • Economic scenarios

The candidate will additionally be responsible for being an internal audit subject matter expert supporting coverage of climate risk management activities including:

  • Climate and Environmental risk management strategy, appetite and measurement
  • Evaluating progress against the Climate Risk Roadmap and environmental commitments
  • Climate scenario analysis
  • Actively participate in framework and process design and risk framework integration
  • Climate and environmental reporting (TCFD, ESG, SEC, etc.)
  • Engaging with ESG program

This role is hybrid. Team members who are in a hybrid role typically spend three days a week at a U.S. Bank location, while having flexibility on their work location for the other working days

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Typically has 10 or more years of experience in an applicable risk management environment
  • Applicable certifications
  • Thorough understanding of safety and soundness requirements, including OCC Heightened Standards.
  • In-depth knowledge of enterprise risk management approaches and objectives (e.g. risk management framework, risk appetite, risk/material risk identification, risk measurement, policy development, regulatory capital, data governance, committee governance).
  • Understanding of climate risk concepts and climate risk management practices including relevant regulatory requirements
  • Knowledge of capital planning expectations outlined in SR 15-19 related to risk identification and economic scenario design.
  • Sustainability & Climate Risk Certification or willingness to obtain certification
  • Knowledge of model risk with an understanding of expectations under SR 11-7
  • Ability to influence senior leadership and guide audit coverage in a matrixed environment.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, US Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401k contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $125,715.00 - $147,900.00 - $162,690.00
