Job Description:

Russell Investments is seeking an experienced Manager, Operational Risk to serve as a key member of the Global Risk Management (GRM) team. The successful candidate will oversee the identification, evaluation, and mitigation of operational risk within the Mumbai office and have management oversight of the local business continuity, third-party risk management and IT risk activities. The Manager, Operational Risk will report to the Director, Risk Program Management and plays a critical role in safeguarding the organization by proactively managing operational risks, promoting resilience, and ensuring adherence to risk related standards.

Years of Experience

10+ years of increasing responsibility in Operational Risk Management role at either an investment management firm, investment consulting firm, or large asset allocator

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field required; CPA, CAIA, or CFA desired.
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with operations and finance best practices for investment firms, including valuation, governance, trading, accounting, operations, systems, entity management, vendor selection, and marketing/investor relations.
  • Strong understanding of risk management frameworks and best practices.
  • Experience with GRC tool such as MetricStream, Service Now or Archer.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement operational risk management policies and procedures to identify and mitigate risks across the organization.
  • Conduct risk assessments to evaluate the potential impact of operational risks on the organization’s strategic goals.
  • Create process control documentation to assist business units on designing controls.
  • Participate in the execution of risk frameworks within Russell Investments at the corporate and regional levels.
  • Drive the risk and control culture of the organization through application of the risk management process.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate risk management practices into the organization’s processes and decision-making.
  • Operate and advance operational risk management tools and best practices.
  • Lead and mentor team members in Mumbai.
  • Partner with global senior leaders to enable risk informed key business and strategy decisions.
  • Prepare and present risk reports to senior management, relevant committees and stakeholders, highlighting key risk and mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure records are documented and systems are maintained and up to date.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff.
