Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support code development & modification of HDD development activities.
  • Optimize & characterize code setting to support performance & reliability assessment. 
  • Manage HDD build test schedule and code development schedule.
  • Code verification on local tester and generate report.
  • Drive & Code Failure Analysis to quickly identify the issue.
  • Operate with current special testers to perform feature verification.
  • Close work with World Wide code team to sync-up status on daily based.
  • Perform technical support activities related to HDD test with engineering approaches to effectively respond to each work request in term of productivity improvement, quality and cost.
  • Establish appropriate performance report.
  • Perform manufacturing HDD Test result monitoring, improvement, problem analysis and solving.
  • Co-ordinate and negotiate with other functional teams including oversea organization concerning technical issues related to the product.
  • Develop subordinate's performance with proper training and supervision.
  • Provide work guidance to other engineers.
  • Supervise engineers/technicians in team to solve the problem effectively and accomplish job in most effective way.
  • Perform related work as assigned
  • Join weekly World Wide technical meeting to sync-up development status

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Physics, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, or related engineering fields
  • At least 8 years in Engineering or related field
  • Proficiency in English in reading, writing, and speaking with good communication skills and Computer literacy

PREFERRED:

  • Direct experience in HDD product development, manufacturing, and testing
  • Good understanding of magnetic recording and head/media integration
  • Capable of developing special test algorithms to identify root causes of recording system problems

SKILLS: 

  • Good programming skills (C/C++, Matlab, Python, etc.)
  • Skillful using lab measurement equipment (oscilloscopes)
  • Skillful using data and statistics analysis tools (JMP, SAS, Macro, R, etc.)
  • Proficient and thorough in detailed analysis on large data sets
  • Clear concise reporting of important key findings and results
  • Self-starter and initiator for test improvement and finding problems ability to analyze large data sets, look for pertinent correlations, and summarize key findings basic logical thinking skills.
