We’re hiring Backend Engineers to build a robust ecosystem of connectors! 

In our area we develop in house connectors to connect with external systems and data warehouses. We are working to connect Snowflake with Fortune 500 companies - in the cloud. In this area you will be working on exposing API, blueprints and frameworks for other developers to create their own connectors. 

AS A SENIOR BACKEND ENGINEER AT SNOWFLAKE YOU WILL:

  • Build connector applications that will target data warehouse ELT/BI builders, data engineers, application developers, data scientists, and third-party system connector builders
  • Deliver features requiring close coordination with several partner teams, for example Native Apps (https://docs.snowflake.com/en/developer-guide/native-apps/native-apps-about) 
  • Create and own components such as:
  • APIs
  • Scheduling service
  • ETL service
  • Create open source artifacts and help grow the Snowflake developer community.
  • Mentor and coach junior team members.

OUR IDEAL SENIOR BACKEND ENGINEER WILL HAVE:

  • 5+ years industry experience designing, building and supporting large scale systems.
  • Experience with high performance and scalable software in an internet scale distributed cloud environment.
  • Experience with building import/export functionality in databases.
  • Fluency in one or more of these programming languages: Java, TypeScript or Python.
  • Experience with SQL
  • Interest in creating well thought out infrastructure and APIs.
  • Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills, especially in a cloud environment. 
  • Great communication skills, both verbal and written, and an interest in working with a diverse set of peers and external developers.
