The ideal candidate is an energetic, hands-on and creative problem solver that is energized to solve distributed systems problems at Scale.

Position Summary

The Management, Orchestration, Visualization and Analytics (ManOVA) team is looking for technically strong Sr. Manager who can lead multiple teams of software engineers in the lifecycle development of Manova products and services. Having a background in Analytics, Orchestration, Cloud services or Network Management is highly valuable.


  • Effectively lead technology areas of the MANOVA product line, development by providing direct technical contributions
  • Efficiently communicate/collaborate internally at F5
  • Participate in defining new software architectures, products and solutions.
  • Keep abreast of new technologies, potential business partners
  • Serve as source of technical expertise to a project team and is a mentor for junior staff members
  • Document software designs via functional specifications and other design documents
  • Technically lead the implementation of major system components 
  • Recommend and maintain technical design methodologies, processes and standards
  • Proactively identifying and resolving key technical issues
  • Conduct presentations both internally and externally - this includes technical and non-technical colleagues and customers


  • Minimum of 8 years of significant software development and engineering experience.
  • 5 or more years designing, implementing and evangelizing large scale distributed systems
  • Solid hands-on Java programmer
  • Experience with NoSQL designs is a major plus
  • BA/BS in computer science or electrical engineering; Masters degreed preferred
  • Strong technical credentials, with at least 6 years of proven software deliverables.
  • Deep knowledge of distributed systems
  • Expertise with designing Cloud and Web Services platforms
  • Strong engineering and design skills, with solid understanding of real-time high performance, scalable and distributed systems
  • Good communication, presentation skills and ability to work well in a development team
  • Proven experience driving complex SW development and test efforts in small and fast paced organizations, with an understanding of the trade-offs that must be made to ensure timeliness and quality.
  • Strong SW engineering and design skills with an eye for details.
  • Proven experience developing test strategy and plans.
  • Ability to lead and motivate the technical team
  • Passion for learning new technologies, and a track record of doing so.
  • Architectural skills and ability to deep dive into technical challenges.
