As a Senior Principal Scientist – Imaging Informatics you will support the evolving imaging informatics and analysis needs of Regeneron Clinical Imaging. This will include the generate, ingest, standardize, manage, mine, interpret and visualize clinical imaging data effectively to support data-driven decision-making. The position involves collaboration with members of Clinical Imaging, internal functions, academic partners, and imaging vendors. Emphasis is placed in generating innovative solutions and automations that facilitate the access, review and analysis of clinical images and associated data, enabling data-driven decision making via informatics and AI solutions, in support of our drug development pipeline.

A typical day of a Senior Principal Scientist – Imaging Informatics may include the following: 

  • Handle the acquisition and integrations of computational resources with the imaging data infrastructure, including documentation and record keeping
  • Develop, adopt and maintain image analysis and informatics tools to support data-driven decision making
  • Enable process optimization, automation and mining of vendor’s imaging derived data via utilization of analytical and AI tools
  • Collaborate closely with IT, Regeneron Genetics Center, Imaging Sciences, Precision Medicine etc. and work on integration of platforms needed for execution of joint image analyses projects 
  • Coordinate service agreements for imaging, archiving and analysis software 
  • Lead development of: system requirements, specification, SOPs, training materials; startup guidelines and operational checklists 
  • Monitor new software development/product to educate group and support technology development
  • Develop workflow development and implementation for images and data transfer
  • Clinical imaging data management, including creating and maintaining databases, and monitoring utilization, efficiency and dataflow

To be considered for this you will need PhD with 8+ years of demonstrated ability in database management and with working knowledge of imaging. This would include image formats, modalities, display, and analysis software, etc. Excellent written/verbal communication and organization skills. Clinical or preclinical imaging using PET, CT, MRI within a regulated or pharmaceutical company environment is highly desirable. Ability to communicate data engineering concepts to non-specialist audience. 

Preferred experiences would include: transferring, archiving and processing of clinical images in a regulated environment; Scripting languages such as SQL, Python, and bash in a Linux/AWS environment and API’s, PACS, MATLAB, database management; migrations, optimization of large volumes of data; backup and recovery, high availability/cluster, and disaster recovery; maintenance and creation of databases, and query monitoring; understanding and documenting system dataflow; Familiarity with DICOM, EHR, HIE and HIM; Familiarity with maintaining online data dashboards

Salary Range (annually)

$145,400.00 - $237,200.00
