The Senior Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineer is responsible for leading operational solutions that improve the quality and throughput of a wide variety of parts. This person will be successful by identifying opportunities that will improve the profitability of a department, followed by detailed planning and exceptional execution of implementation. This person's successful project will be core to operations and leave a lasting impact on the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead transformative projects, with an emphasis in machine and robotic programming.
  • Implement Statistical Process Control on KPVs to establish proactive processes that improve repeatability.
  • Driven to be hands-on to iterate quickly while using data to support the approach.
  • Create department and equipment layouts, optimizing efficiency and reducing waste.
  • Initiate and implement process and product quality improvements based on statistical analysis.
  • Make key decisions to keep projects on schedule while demonstrating excellent communication skills to business leaders.
  • Determine parts, tools, and equipment needed to achieve manufacturing goals.
  • Work cross-functionally to identify problems and recommend solutions.
  • Manages multiple projects in a fast paced environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics or related Engineering field is required.
  • 3+ years of work experience in a high volume manufacturing environment is required.
  • 2+ years of project management experience required.
  • Must have a ‘hands on’ mentality and the ability to work well with production team members.
  • Experience with purchasing capital equipment and supporting production start-up is required.
  • Experience with automation of manufacturing processes. 
  • Have led department or site moves involving layout approvals and cross-functional project management. 
  • Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) Programming and operating experience is preferred.
  • Must have lean training and the ability to utilize lean tools in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of quality systems and statistical process controls.
  • Data driven and analytical. Finding solutions by understanding data and being detail oriented.
  • Needs to be mechanically inclined and be able to help diagnose issues with equipment.
