Role Summary:
- This position is responsible for electrical and/or software design of industrial control systems. The position encompasses high-level concept design, translation of customer requirements to design inputs, development and test, design for manufacturability and serviceability.
Responsibilities :
- Developing innovative designs to meet all requirements for performance, reliability, serviceability, cost and manufacturability
- Analyzing and validating material/component selection, tolerances, performance, cost, manufacturability
- Working with cross-functional teams to complete subsystem and system verification and validation
- Participate on small to medium sized teams to develop custom equipment solutions
- Evaluating and prioritizing pertinent business tasks with limited information
Quality Specific Goals:
- Aware of and comply with the Cytiva Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality
- Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position
- Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines
- Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required
- Ensure compliance/closure of Regulatory and Quality requirements before approving Design
- Outputs/Program activities by driving the implementation of process and product quality improvement
Qualifications :
- BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
- 5 years engineering experience in a related field
- Demonstrated experience in any of the following automation design spaces: HMI/SCADA - Wonderware, DeltaV; PLC - Allen Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens; Automation hardware design, including design for EMC
- Experience at developing, supporting and troubleshooting programmable logic controller programs and software
- Exposure to government regulated industries (GMP, GAMP)
Desirable Qualifications :
- MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated technical leadership capability in integration activities
- Self-starter, energizing, results oriented and able to multi-task
- Excellent teamwork, coordination and communication skills
- Ability to meet aggressive reliability, performance, cost, serviceability, and delivery targets
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Global project experience
- Knowledge of UL and IEC standards (e.g., UL 508A, EN 60204-1) and how they apply to designs
- Working knowledge of Cytiva tools and processes ePDM, AutoCAD Electrical, Phase Review Discipline (PRD)
